The Ponderosa Campground is located just 6 miles from the Bandelier National Monument and the town of Los Alamos. Its also great for hiking and mountain biking so don't miss out on that as well as the winter sports made popular by the mountains slopes. Look forward to snow boarding, skiing and sledding, and on those clear, New Mexico nights, expect a spectacular opportunity to stargaze. 

The Gambel Oak Group Campground is located in the Sugarite Canyon and as the name suggests, is filled with spectacular gambel oaks and other beautiful trees. Look forward to hiking the natural landscape and exploring nearby areas like Lake Alice with tons of opportunities for water sports. Take your line out to the lake side for some stellar fishing, or go swimming, cruising or kayaking. To truly appreciate the park, make sure to chat with the rangers and learn from them the ins-and-outs of the canyon. Ask them about the best trails and picnic areas, as well as the best spots for stargazing. 

The Willow Creek Campground is located at the Heron Lake State Park in New Mexico and neighbors Santa Fe. It's the perfect spot for fresh air and acres and acres of gorgeous forestry and southwestern beauty. Enjoy fishing trout and salmon, and since the lake is a designated "quiet lake," you can also look forward to peaceful canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Hiking is also very popular at this site, but don't forget your bike if you want to experience the trails just a little bit differently! You can alos make a day trip to Santa Fe or Albuquerque, so plan to catch the balloon festival if you can. It's a real treat. 

At an over 6,100 foot elevation and nestled between two high sandstone bluffs is the Villanueva National Park. There's tons of excellent outdoor activities to enjoy, so get ready for great fishing, birding, wildlife viewing, wildflower viewing or mountain biking. Visitors especially love to hike the various trails, so get ready to explore the gorgeous forestry that climbs up the bluffs and runs through the canyon. There's also equestrian trails as well as a number of picnic tables, so whether you want to go galloping through the wilderness or hang out with friends over great food, there's plenty of space and picnic tables to make that happen!  

The Valve Tenders Group Campground is located in Raton, in Sugarite Canyon. Soak in the gorgeous views of the canyon as well as the sunrises over Lake Alice off in the distance, and fall in love with New Mexico all over again. There's plenty to do, so get ready for hiking, biking and lots of water sports like boating, swimming and fishing. You can also go horseback riding here, and go rock climbing along the canyon. At an elevation of over 7,000 feet and plenty of sights and experiences to enjoy, you'll no doubt have a cool and relaxing time at Valve Tenders. 

Lose yourself in the tall pines of the Little Oso Primitive Campground at the Heron Lake State Park in New Mexico. The lake is designated a "quiet lake," so boat operators cannot ride at wake speeds. As such, get ready for some peace and quiet during your next vacation, and excellent conditions for kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing. And of course, enjoy great fly fishinf of trout and salmon, all against the gorgeous mountain backdrop of the lake. Also enjoy hiking, biking and winter sports such as cross country skiing and snow boarding. 

The Brushy Point Campground is located at the Heron Lake State Park, and is set among the picturesque tall pines of northern New Mexico. Designated as a "quiet lake," boat operators cannot get up to wake-speeds, making it an excellent location for paddle-crafts liek canoes and kayaks. Get on the lake surface to enjoy a peaceful and easy-going float on the lake, and be sure to cast a few lines to catch record-sized trout and kokanee salmon. Ice fishing is very popular during the winter, as is cross-country skiing. During the warmer months, be sure to hike, bike and picnic your way around the lake, taking in the beautiful natural terrain as you go.
