The Raton KOA is a great stopping point on a road trip between Colorado and New Mexico. Just northwest of Tucumcari is the Conchas Lake State Park. The Conchas Lake is one of New Mexico longest; explore 11 miles of the Conchas river or 14 miles of the South Canadian river. This is one of the area's most popular sites because of its secluded coves, sandy beaches and canyons, and abundance of outdoor activities available. You can boat, fish, hike, swim, camp and go bird watching which is a favorite among locals. There's also plenty of winter sports to enjoy once the snow falls!

The Riana Abiquiu Lake COE located on a scenic bluff overlooking the scenic Abiquiu Lake in northern New Mexico. Look forward to the distinctive scents of the area from fragrant pinion pine, sage and juniper, as well as breathtaking sights from the colorful rock formations around the park. Visitors enjoy fishing in the lake, picnicking, boating, hiking and water skiing, and of course the gorgeous view of the desert vista.

At an over 6,100 foot elevation and nestled between two high sandstone bluffs is the Villanueva National Park. There's tons of excellent outdoor activities to enjoy, so get ready for great fishing, birding, wildlife viewing, wildflower viewing or mountain biking. Visitors especially love to hike the various trails, so get ready to explore the gorgeous forestry that climbs up the bluffs and runs through the canyon. There's also equestrian trails as well as a number of picnic tables, so whether you want to go galloping through the wilderness or hang out with friends over great food, there's plenty of space and picnic tables to make that happen!  

The Valve Tenders Group Campground is located in Raton, in Sugarite Canyon. Soak in the gorgeous views of the canyon as well as the sunrises over Lake Alice off in the distance, and fall in love with New Mexico all over again. There's plenty to do, so get ready for hiking, biking and lots of water sports like boating, swimming and fishing. You can also go horseback riding here, and go rock climbing along the canyon. At an elevation of over 7,000 feet and plenty of sights and experiences to enjoy, you'll no doubt have a cool and relaxing time at Valve Tenders.

The Soda Pocket Campground is located in Sugarite Canyon, New Mexico and is surrounded by exquisite, blooming wildflowers. Abiquiu Lake is located in northern New Mexico and is known to offer some of the area's finest fishing opportunities. Look forward to a 5,200 acre lake surface, and an amazing panoramic view of Flint Mountain. You can also catch glimpses of pine, sage and and juniper among colorful rock formations, so be sure to bring your camera! There's an abundance of attractions in the area including: the Georgia O'Keefe Museum, a Ghost Ranch, San Pedro Wilderness, Bandelier National Monument and the city of Santa Fe. The Jemez Falls Campground is located in a stunning ponderosa pine and forest area to the east of the East Fork Jemez River. Look forward to amazing sights and fresh air, but be prepared for chilly night. Jemez Falls is the largest waterfall among the Jemez mountains and it is close to the camp site. The Valles Caldera National Preserve, the hot springs at Jemez Springs and Bandelier National Forest are nearby attractions. La Cueva is the nearest town, and there you can find convenience stores for supplies and various local eateries and restaurants. You can also enjoy river and stream fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and picnicking at this park. Spots are filled on a first come first serve basis, and there are only a few amenities such as: picnic tables, Rv hookups, water and fire rings. 3 miles west from Ghost Ranch Education & Retreat Center is the Echo Amphitheater, a favorite among serial visitors to Abiquiu, New Mexico. Schools, clubs and vacationers take advantage of the covered picnic areas and Echo Amphitheater Trail. The last part of the trail has steep stairs leading up to the Echo Canyon, where the rocks are a natural habitat for snakes, so be sure to stay on the trail and off the rocks! There's also tons of hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, skiing and snowboarding to be done. There's rarely a dull moment at the Echo Amphitheater!
