The campground is located along the Pecatonica River and Tri-County Recreational Trail.  Ride and enjoy the many sights along the famous Cheese Country ATV Trail and local Darlington ATV Club Trails. Visit Mathys Ace Hardware for your non-resident trail pass, if needed. Launch your canoe and paddle the Pecatonica River or fish & swim along the banks of the river. Take a stroll along the lighted walking path.  Just sit and relax and enjoy the wildlife along the water’s edge! Don’t forget to enjoy shopping and eating in Darlington, or travel a short distance to historic Shullsburg or Mineral Point.  The possibilities are endless! Free parking for daily trail users is available. Winding River Campground is a small 25 acre centrally located quiet campground, nestled under a beautiful canopy of trees with a spring fed pond with the Little Yellow River bordering the campground. The campground offers overnight and weekly (RVs and tenting), monthly and seasonal sites (RVs). the sites have with 30 amp (20 amp for tenters) and water. 300 gallon holding tanks for seasonal sites for septic. Winding River is a perfect campground for families with children of all ages as well as those that are looking for a quiet location to be out in nature, with hiking, fishing, and water sports lakes nearby. There is a camp store, lots of games in the Rec Area, bath house facilities, a swimming pond with Wibit floaties, catch n' release pond fishing, and much more.
