The Fairgrounds itself is nearly 100 years old and close to the charming seaside village of Langley. It’s just a quick 15-minute (0.8 mile) walk to town, where you’ll find cute restaurants, art galleries, theaters, a small cinema, a local library, a whale museum, and much more! You can drive or hop on the regional free transit to explore the island’s four state parks, historic farms, wineries, and stunning views that will make you want to come back for more!
Langley has its own unique vibe, and there are lots of annual events to check out. Don’t miss the Mystery Weekend—a fun community whodunit! There’s also the Soup Box Derby, Farmer’s Markets, the summer Shakespeare Festival, the Lighting of Langley with Santa, Little Big Fest, and DjangoFest, which is all about Django Reinhardt’s music. Every first Saturday, you can enjoy an Art Walk, strolling through various galleries.
