Located in Newland, North Carolina (Avery County).Our four-season climate makes vacationing here pleasurable at any time of year. Relax with your family, friends, and dogs or get a bite to eat at one of the restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. In the spring and summer, play golf at Mountain Glen Golf Course or trek Grandfather Mountain. In the winter, go skiing or snowboarding at Sugar Mountain or Beech Mountain. Take a trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway and stop along the route to enjoy various hikes.You may relax on the grounds by lounging on the large porch area or playing games and cards in our brand new clubhouse and coffee shop. The excitement of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing comes to Bristol, Tennessee twice a year, and Pole Position Campground puts you in the midst of all the heart-pounding action. Next to the famed Bristol Motor Speedway, Pole Position Campground is an easy walk from the race track. Pole Position offers hundreds of 20’ x 50’ level camping sites available in three tiers. Each site offers full hookups with 50 amp electric service and our campground includes a large bathhouse with full shower facilities.  In 2020, the campground will be open March 30th-April 6th, June 18th - June 22nd, and September 13th-September 20th. For motorcyclists and bicyclists, FGCC is a perfect stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We heve laundry facilities. Active or retired military receive a 10 percent discount as well as groups with five or more reservations. If you book seven nights, pay for six.
