Brazos River Retreat, located just 25 miles from downtown Houston and 20 miles from the Medical Center, is a hidden little honey hole. Most campers are convinced they are lost on the way here because you come through a beautiful neighborhood of mansions and multimillion dollar homes. The park is in a secluded area where the park owners chose to keep the peace and tranquility of the natural area. This is not your typical park location. It is built in the middle of some of the most expensive properties in the suburb of Houston called Sugar Land. Once you are on the wooded property, you would believe you are miles away from civilization. However, our park’s neighborhood has two Starbucks, a “Signature Kroger” grocery store, multiple local restaurants, major bank branches, spas, Target, Walmart, etc. Our park features back in, pull thru, full 20/30/50 amp water and sewer sites. Some amenities include trash services, bbq/grill, picnic tables and beautiful waterfront views to list a few. Outdoor activities include backpacking, fishing, hiking, kayaking and canoeing to list a few.  Again, this is not like the other RV parks in the area built with lots of concrete, no trees next to a highway.  We enjoy the secluded outdoors and the amenities of the higher end neighborhood. Campers can look forward to a number of attractions just beyond the campground including the Sam Houston National Forest, Texas Prison Museum, Sam Houston Memorial Museum, and the Walker County Historical Commission. There are also a number of other historical sites such as the Hearts Veterans Museum of Texas, Gibbs-Powell Home Museum, and a list of great restaurants, golf courses, lakes, and bars to enjoy.  64 Pull thru and 9 back-in sites, most sites have some shade. Krause Springs is a well known swimming hole and camping area located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. The 115 acre property is listed on the National Registry of Historical Sites and has been privately owned by the Krause Family for over 50 years. The property has many natural sites to explore -- 32 springs feed a manmade pool as well as a natural pool featuring a waterfall and underwater caves. Guests are welcome to explore many walking trails, shady picnic areas, fishing spots and take a stroll through the Butterfly Gardens.
