The Mission Tejas Campground is located in the beautiful town of Grapeland, Texas and is the perfect place for an authentic southern vacation. Onsite activities include camping, picnicking, hiking and fishing. A pond located near the picnic area offers an excellent opportunity to explore aquatic life and fish. Hiking and nature trails provide access to the natural beauty of the East Texas Pineywoods. The dogwoods are beautiful the last week or so of March, usually around the 25th. Just beyond the campground, travelers can look forward to a number of local attractions, such as the Mission Tejas State Park, Grapeland Safari and Salmon Lake for excellent fishing, boating, paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking. Many also visit for the annual Blue Grass Music Festival, Peanut Festival and a long list of excellent restaurants and small eateries. The Black Creek Lake Campground is located in the beautiful town of Honey Grove, Texas and is the perfect spot for an idyllic southern vacation. Campers can look forward to great activities on the water, including: canoeing, fishing, non-motorized boating and water skiing. Catfish, largemouth bass and crappie are commonly caught species. There's also plenty of space and trails for hiking, biking and scenic viewing, and for the urban adventurer, there's a number of excellent antique and specialty shops, as well as local eateries to enjoy. The Liberty Grove Campground is located at the beautiful Cooper Lake and is a great place for a quiet, relaxing Texas vacation. On the west side of the lake is the Cedar Creek East Loop for excellent scenic viewing and hiking. Biking and horseback riding are also common at this park. On the other side of the campground is the lake, which is perfect for swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. The campground is also perfect for picnicking, and many head out to various flat spots at dusk to enjoy sunset viewing and stargazing. The Dinosaur Valley Campground is located in the beautiful and cozy town of Glen Rose, Texas and is a great place for an authentic southern getaway. Just beyond the campground, campers can look forward to a number of excellent attractions such as the adjacent Dinosaur Valley State Park for hiking and historic and scenic viewing. The Big Rock's Park, Barnard Mills Museum, Somervell County Museum and the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. Historic downtown Glen Rose, Squaw Valley Golf Course and the Creation Evidence Museum are also popular stops through the area, and many campers are sure to try the local bars and eateries for a true taste of the local flavor.
