Present in the park is the massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas which has been a great tourist attraction for year. Parrie Haynes Ranch Equestrian Center is settled along the Lampasas River on about 1600 acres of Hill Country terrain. West Fort Hood borders our northern side. The acreage is teeming with natural wildlife and native plants with trails that wind through rolling native prairies, pastures, cedar/oak trees, and crystal clear streams. The Priddy Cabin was built here in 1859. Other homes were scattered across the ranch and have only foundations remaining. Please be careful and respect our heritage. Visit the Parrie Haynes Ranch Museum in the Clubhouse (not big but a labor of love for our history). Families welcome! A full service campground located in Central Texas. The main camp is about 24 acres out of 1600.  Currently, there are 40 complete sites with 30 & 50 amp electricity, water, and pens at individual sites! We have 86 pens and a few corrals. There is a half size arena, round pen, and a fun obstacle course for you and your equine to enjoy. The footing is a combination of sand, caleche, and rock.  My mule is not shod but if your animal is not used to this terrain, I would advise shoes or boots. Keeping Texas Trails open for Equestrians, Hikers, Trail-Runners, and Mountain Bikers.

Krause Springs is a well known swimming hole and camping area located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. The 115 acre property is listed on the National Registry of Historical Sites and has been privately owned by the Krause Family for over 50 years. The property has many natural sites to explore -- 32 springs feed a manmade pool as well as a natural pool featuring a waterfall and underwater caves. It has a spectacular view from the high bluff overlooking the river bend and the "rapids", as well as a couple of great gravel shoal access points that will lead you to great fishing and or lounging on the river. We have six 1 bedroom cabins and then a 2 bedroom with loft lake house. There is 2 docks to swim, fish, or just to relax on. One of the docks has underwater fishing lights too. Come out and sit on the docks for your morning sunrise! The cabins are some of the last old fishing camps from the 1950's that have been remodeled. They are very up to date and come fully furnished. Very spacious and comfortable for a nice relaxing stay. The house is very spacious. So much room to spread out and not be cramped up.
