Barefoot Gee's Primitive campsites is located near Daingerfield Texas, across the street from Lone-star lake. Disbursed campsites beside a small Artesian creek on 10 acres of East Texas deciduous and pine forest. Our tree farm and wildlife refuge is secluded and abundant with birds and wild life . Peaceful and serene areas for meditation and prayer. Horseshoe pits, volleyball court, Ninja obstacles: outside games. Hammock trees, forest and stream exploration, walking or biking trails “raw”. If you’re not too loud, a probable Wildlife encounter! Smoking and drinking responsibly are allowed. Most campers have cell phone reception. We have electric and water available for an extra fee. You may still hear traffic and homes are within hearing distance but out of sight!. You are a 2 minute walk up to the house.  You will find a private, secure, safe place to camp with kids or friends. Be unafraid to leave your camp for the day. It's a short drive to the lake. I have wild life in abundance with native plants and forest. Birding here is excellent.  We have raw trails for mountain bikes, or walking; child safe . You can have a nice fire.  Public fishing and boat ramp (Lone Star lake) is less than a fourth mile away .This lake is perfect for boating, swimming, kayaking (available for rent) and fishing. Lake o the Pines is just 10 miles away and is suitable for larger boats or sailing craft. I have room for your boat trailer,securely parked in the gated yard.4 miles to town. You can camp here with your horses, we are securely fenced and I have a small corral. County roads good for riding with public land nearby. I have goats that free range the property, they generally come by for a visit and then leave you alone. Unless you wish to interact with them. They can be pinned away from your camp if necessary. The Cowtown RV Park is located in the cozy town of Aledo and is a great place for an authentic Texas vacation. The Dallas World Aquarium, Dealey Plaza, Klyde Warren Park and Kimbell Art Museum are among the area's famous sites. Oakdale Park, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, has been providing recreational opportunities for families since 1925.  We offer cabins, RV & tent sites, meeting rooms, a playground, picnic sites, recreational equipment, an outdoor stage, paved lanes for the kids and their bikes, a very large, 330,000 gallon swimming pool, a coin laundry, and campground store all for your family's benefit and enjoyment.  Beginning with a CASI Chili Cook Off and IBCA BBQ Cookoff, from February through December there's almost always something happening.  Since 1972, Oakdale has been home to a Spring and and Fall Bluegrass Jamboree (1st Saturday in April and 1st Saturday in October, respectively); since 1982, it has been home to the Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival (Mother's Day weekend); and, since 1987, it has been home to a Fall Woodcarving Show and Rally.  For several years the Paluxy River Bluegrass Association has been hosting 3rd Saturday jam sessions and free stage shows at Oakdale as well.  Many families have been coming here for their reunions for decades.  And, many RV clubs regularly hold rallies here.  As you can see, during our first 100 years, many traditions have sprung up and taken hold.  We're located across the street from the Paluxy River, where you'll find the City of Glen Rose's free Big Rocks Park and River Walk. Next to the Big Rocks is a small dam, a miniature golf course, and a snow cone shack.  Combine those "backyard" attractions with Fossil Rim, Dinosaur Valley State Park, Dinosaur World, the Creation Evidence Museum, The Promise, Barnard's Mill Museum, historic downtown Glen Rose, Squaw Creek Golf Course, and canoeing and tubing at the nearby Brazos River crossing, and there's plenty to keep our guests, both young and old, entertained.Whether it be a weekend retreat, family reunion, RV rally, or special event, make plans to stay at Oakdale Park and start your own tradition!
