Popular for its showers and musician presentations at the silver Amphitheater, the campground is idyllic and bustling with activity and fun, especially during the summer months. The Lost Canyon Campground is located in the Elephant Butte Lake State Park is one of the most central to the lake of all the campgrounds in the area. Nearby is a visitor center (on Broadway) with tons of helpful guides so you can get the most out of your stay. There's also a museum for visitors to peruse and a ghost town nearby. The Quail Run Campground is located in Elephant Butte, New Mexico and is a great spot for a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the state's big cities. Nearby are great local restaurants like Amici's Pizza, Casa Taco, and eateries among the shops at Wiregrass. The campground is relatively close to the Rio Grande river, so take a day trip out there to visit the marina and go sailing. The area is also perfect for hiking, biking and great sight seeing. Look up on any night to enjoy stargazing or a spectacular New Mexico sunrise. 

With 30 sites, and close to the vistas of Sierra Blanca, Oak Grove Campground is one not to miss with its lush forestry and surrounding miles of sky-scraping mountain ranges. Visitors enjoy bicycling and hiking the winding, dirt trails, horseback riding, hunting and picnicking under the shaded areas of the campground.

The North Highlands Campground is located in the Elephant Butte Lake State Park and is a great place for a quiet escape into the beautiful vistas of New Mexico. The Volunteer Park Travel Campsite is military personnel only, and as you would expect, it is clean, well-managed and operated by friendly, helpful staff. With a beautiful view and relatively close proximity to Las Cruces and the White Sands National Monument, you have a lot of space and flexibility to move around and explore. Adventure through the cities of New Mexico or the gorgeous natural terrain, and return to a comfortable park filled with convenient amenities. 

The Three Rivers Petroglyph Site is the biggest collection of petroglyphs in the nation, and is a great place to immerse yourself in the history and rich culture of the southwest. Hikers prepare for some challenging and scenic trails, and great views of the Sierra and Tularosa Basin. The nearby trading post is also world-class, offering campers a pick of the best local arts and craft, each unique piece holding some historic or cultural significance. Fall in love with the southwest at this park, where there's so much of nature to explore. Hike the gorgeous desert vistas, or mountain bike the hills around the campground. Explore the gorgeous desert vistas that are mixed in with hills and lakes, for a great outdoor adventure. Make your way down to the lake for water skiing, paddle boarding, fishing and of course swimming, and strap on your hiking boots to hit the trails on foot or bike. The Club Cove Campground is located at the Elephant Butte Lake State Park in New Mexico. Campers can look forward to acres and acres of gorgeous southwestern terrain, and a lake ready for all the water sports you could imagine. Located in the Lincoln National Forest, New Mexico are the Bluff Springs Dispersed Campsites. It is a partially developed picnic area with dispersed campsites with spectacular mountain views, and beautiful forestry all around. Take one of the trails around clumps of wildflowers, and be sure to catch at least one sunset or sunrise; have a camera handy! There's also a few small waterfalls within the park so keep your eyes open for that! Most visitors to this site go off to the Cloudcroft village to take advantage of the local sights and do some gift or food shopping. Maybe you'll be in time for one of the three annual festivals that take place in Zenith Park in the village.
