The South Area Campground is located at the Storrie Lake State Park and is a popular site for outdoor activities and some serene lakeside relaxation. Enjoy wildlife viewing while you hike the various trails around the park, so be sure to back not only your binoculars, but your hiking shoes! The area is also well-known for excellent fishing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, caoneing and boating. The area can get hot, but look forward to crisp, fresh breezes off the lake, which keeps the temperature ideal for outdoor activities. Also be sure to be outside at dusk to catch one of New Mexico's iconic sunsets.
