Just northwest of Tucumcari is the Conchas Lake State Park. The Conchas Lake is one of New Mexico longest; explore 11 miles of the Conchas river or 14 miles of the South Canadian river. This is one of the area's most popular sites because of its secluded coves, sandy beaches and canyons, and abundance of outdoor activities available. You can boat, fish, hike, swim, camp and go bird watching which is a favorite among locals. There's also plenty of winter sports to enjoy once the snow falls!

The Raton Pass Camp and Cafe is a campground located north of Raton just off I-25 at the top of Raton Pass, New Mexico. Soak in the panoramic views of the Savage Canyon, home to gambel oak, pinion and ponderosa pine, and while you're sitting outside keep your eyes open for the wildlife that calls Raton Pass home. There are bears, mule deer, elk, wild turkeys and scores of beautiful hummingbirds. Enjoy a quiet stay at the NRA Whittington Center Campgrounds located in Raton New Mexico. There's a trail nearby for some early morning or late evening hiking, and the Whittington Center is close by and home of the local museum. Take day trips to Trinidad CO for some shopping, the Capulin Volcano National Monument and enjoy the area's excellent wildlife viewing. The area has some spectacular views, so even when the animals are elsewhere on the grounds, you can enjoy viewing and photographing some iconic New Mexico scenes.

The Pendaries RV Park is located near the beautiful New Mexico city of Santa Fe, and is a great camping spot for the history-buff and the desert lover. Running through the campground and perfect for a quiet morning fishing is the Rio Fernando de Taos stream, and there's acres and acres of open space for exploring. Visitors often look forward to hiking the trails, and especially finding a spot free of over-hanging trees to have a view of the sky for stargazing. Campers can also look forward to nearby cities such as Angel Fire, Red River and Eagle Nest, and among them, a plethora of great attractions. Camping at the Sugarite Canyon is a real treat for a number of reasons. For one, the natural terrain is absolutely captivating. Enjoy the views of the cliffs and forests that are speckled with dozens of shades of green and earthy browns. That being said, get ready for some excellent hiking and biking opportunities, and if you don't see a path, go out there and make one! Hunting and horseback riding is also common, as is wildlife viewing. Keep an eye out for birds, butterflies and plenty of curious deer. At an elevation of over 6,000 feet, campers can also look forward to cool breezes, and clear skies for stargazing. 

Sweetwater River Ranch is a park located near Texas Creek, Colorado. It features 18 full hookup campsites that are big rig friendly. Many of them are pull through accessible. The park provides free WiFi, allows pets, and has a dump station.   Amenities & Activities Campsite amenities offered include docks, picnic tables, fire circles, and grills. It also includes basic amenities like restrooms with hot showers and laundry facilities. The Corral RV Park is located in the beautiful and cozy Texas town of Dalhart and is a great spot for an authentic southern vacation. Attractions just beyond the campground include the Dalhart Bowl, The XIT Museum, The La Rita Performing Arts Theatre and the Dallam Country Club. There's also a number of city parks for campers to look forward to, as well as the Lake Rita Blanca Park for scenic viewing, hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and paddle boarding. Storrie Lake is an excellent camping spot in Las Vegas, New Mexico. With a serene and gorgeous lake surface and surrounding area, the park is popular for providing visitors with a base camp while they go out and enjoy various water sports. Look forward to canoeing, kayaking, fishing, boating, water skiing, wind surfing and paddle boarding. Campers can also expect great trails for hiking and flat areas for playing volleyball or picnicking. We recommend picnicking at dusk so you can enjoy the gorgeous sunsets New Mexico is known for.
