Cochiti Lake is located in Sandoval County New Mexico, and is one of the area's hidden treasures. Enjoy spectacular scenes of the mountain ranges and water, especially at dawn and dusk when the sky really puts on a light show. In a predominantly desert environment, most of the vegetation around the park are desert plants, but that doesn't prevent the fauna from thriving. Look forward to seeing osprey nesting sites, rabbits and deer, as well as other desert animals around the lake. Windsurfing is a common past time at the lake, as well as swimming and fishing for bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, sunfish and trout.
