The Jemez Mountains is the breathtaking backdrop for the Fenton Lake State Park in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. Surrounded by beautiful ponderosa pines, the park is ideal of wildlife viewing and hiking, and with the Rio Cebolla running through it, it's also excellent for fishing and canoeing. The river is well-stocked with rainbow trout and German brown trout; ice fishing is also popular there. The park also has a fun playground for kids making it well-sought after among the little ones, and is also known to attract cross-country skiiers during the winter months. Boating, horseback riding and picnicking are also common activities at the park.

The park is also relatively close to the Bosque Redondo Memorial and Fort Sumner. 

The Three Rivers Petroglyph Site is the biggest collection of petroglyphs in the nation, and is a great place to immerse yourself in the history and rich culture of the southwest. Hikers prepare for some challenging and scenic trails, and great views of the Sierra and Tularosa Basin. The nearby trading post is also world-class, offering campers a pick of the best local arts and craft, each unique piece holding some historic or cultural significance. Fall in love with the southwest at this park, where there's so much of nature to explore. Hike the gorgeous desert vistas, or mountain bike the hills around the campground. Enjoy hiking the interpretive trails and biking among the hills, but be careful not to intrude on sacred Indian territory that will be marked off. 

The Skyline Campground is located south of the famous Monjeau Lookout Tower along Forest Road. Visitors enjoy exquisite scenery, and breathtaking mountain views. With access to the White Mountain Wilderness via the Crest Trailhead. Campers can enjoy a range of activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking, hunting, and of course snowboarding and skiing during the winter months.

The Gallinas River Campground is located in the beautiful town of Las Vegas, New Mexico and is a great spot for an authentic outdoor escape. Campers can look forward to a number of outdoor activities such as wind surfing, boating, hiking, fishing and bird watching, and there's plenty of open space for hiking, ATV touring and clear skies for sunset viewing and stargazing. Just beyond the campground, travelers can expect excellent attractions such as the Las Vegas Museum, K-Bob's Steakhouse, the Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge and plenty of shopping and dining opportunities to take advantage of. The South Area Campground is located at the Storrie Lake State Park and is a popular site for outdoor activities and some serene lakeside relaxation. The area is also well-known for excellent fishing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, caoneing and boating. Bonito Lake Campground is just a mile from Bonito Lake. Even though there's no fishing at the lake, there is plenty to do such as: camping, hiking and so much sight seeing along the gorgeous green mountain ranges.
