Lose yourself in the tall pines of the Little Oso Primitive Campground at the Heron Lake State Park in New Mexico. The lake is designated a "quiet lake," so boat operators cannot ride at wake speeds. As such, get ready for some peace and quiet during your next vacation, and excellent conditions for kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing. And of course, enjoy great fly fishinf of trout and salmon, all against the gorgeous mountain backdrop of the lake. Get on the lake surface to enjoy a peaceful and easy-going float on the lake, and be sure to cast a few lines to catch record-sized trout and kokanee salmon. Ice fishing is very popular during the winter, as is cross-country skiing. During the warmer months, be sure to hike, bike and picnic your way around the lake, taking in the beautiful natural terrain as you go. 

The Elk Run Campground is located in El Vado Lake, New Mexico and is a popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Be sure to bring your reel for excellent trout and salmon fishing, and your gear for paddle boarding, cruising, kayaking or just plain swimming. Campers enjoy this sit particularly for its fresh, crisp air and gorgeous views of the valley below.
