Chloride is a silver mining ghost town, and home to the Apache Kid RV Park. The park is small and secluded, so take advantage of the wonderful New Mexico quiet and especially the knowledgeable staff who are like walking history books. Some visitors like to visit the nearby cemetery which has some interesting headstones, but everyone should swing by the museum; it's well worth it. The artist coop has excellent displays and all reasonably priced. It's a great place to get souvenirs. There's one beautifully restored historic cabin, so call in early to reserve.

The Desert Vista RV Resort is located in Deming, New Mexico and is an excellent spot to enjoy the gorgeous desert vistas of the southwest. Go on hikes through the various trails, or stay at the resort where you can enjoy family games in the location's "Great Room." The City of Rocks State Park gets its name from the incredible volcanic rock formations found here. The park is a mile from the scenic Chihuahuan Desert Region of southwest New Mexico, and stands at an elevation of 5,200 feet. The geological formation is made up of large, sculpted rock columns and pinnacles rising as high as 40 feet, and separated by paths or lanes resembling streets. After years of natural erosion, the formations have an almost other-worldly appearance, filling the landscape like towers against the beautiful New Mexico sky.
