Serene, beautiful and off the beaten Montana trail is the Racetrack Cabin. The small building is tucked away within the dense forest and is well-known is a quiet safe-haven for hunters, and retreat from the curious bears roaming around outside. At an elevation of over 6,300 feet, expect a cool climate and acres of green vegetation. Popular outdoor activities include: hiking the various trails, or trout fishing at Racetrack Creek. Vacationers can also look forward to winter sports such as snowboarding and skiing. An hour drive from the cabin will take campers to the city for supplies, fine, local dining and even some live music or a historic site or two. 

Halfway between the Glacier National Park and Yellowstone is the Deer lodge KOA. With Clark Fork River running right through it, campers can look forward to excellent fishing for brown trout. Check out the Old Montana Prison Complex, Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site and the Montana Museum. The Doney Lake Cabin is located at the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, and is a favorite among campers looking to immerse themselves in a gorgeous natural setting where fishing is easy and relaxing. Get ready for a number of excellent outdoor activities other than fishing. Campers can look forward to big game hunting, nature viewing, wildlife viewing for elk, deer and moose and hiking along the beautiful and challenging paths. Winter sports are also popular, so look forward to snow shoeing, sledding and skiing. At a high elevation, campers can expect mild summers and fresh air, so pack a bag and head up to the Doney Lake Cabin. The site is very primitive and doesn't include water, so be sure to bring all the supplies you'll need!

The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest is located close to Georgetown Lake. If you like fishing, you'll absolutely love this lake. Look forward to ice and pond fishing for various species of trout, and calm, beautiful waters for canoeing, kayaking or boating. Water skiing and swimming are also popular at this park. The air is fresh, clean and clear, making it ideal for picnicking and stargazing. The are is quiet, well-maintained and beautiful, and is great for your next Montana getaway. 

The Douglas Creek Cabin is located in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest and features a number of great outdoor activities that can be done in the carefully-curated solitude of the forest. Campers can look forward to acres and acres of pine and fir trees to explore and hike, as well as curious wildlife like elk, deer and moose. Hunting is also popular, as well as winter sports like snow shoeing, skiing and sledding. At a high elevation, this beautiful cabin is usually on high demand, so if you're hoping to enjoy a bit of peace and seclusion, reserve it early.

The Grasshopper Campground and Picnic Area is located in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge national Forest. Campers can look forward to a breathtaking oasis of pine and fir trees, rolling hills and high peaks for hiking and mountain biking. Visitors who enjoy winter sports will love this park for providing an excellent landscape for snow showing, sledding and skiing. Grasshopper Creek is located near the campsite, so look forward to river and stream fishing for trout and excellent spots for river rafting and kayaking. Also be sure to pause for picnicking and group fun at the low, leveled plains at this park, which are also perfect for looking up and stargazing!

The Swan Creek Campground is located in the scenic Gallatin Canyon, so get ready for a plethora of outdoor activities set in a gorgeous wilderness terrain. Campers can expect wildlife viewing, so when you visit, keep your eyes open for moose, bald eagles, bighorn sheep, elk and deer. Visitors can also take advantage of water sports like water rafting, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and of course, world-class fishing. Rainbow, brook, brown and cutthroat trout are common catches, but you may also snap a whitefish while you're out there. Hiking and mountain biking are also visitor favorites so be sure to bring your gear!

Come intimately explore the Big Sky County at Dillon KOA. Plan for a few days as there are many historic sites to visit!
