Audubon R.V. Park is a small no frills park. It is located in the heart of Vermilion Parish Louisiana. (Cajun Country) We have 7 full hook up site's with 50 amp. plugs. If you like clean and quiet this is your place. We offer full hook ups. Municipal Water, sewer and 50 amp. electrical. All back in parking on a very hard limestone base. We are located approximately 6 Mi south of Abbeville louisiana. If you like seafood and steaks Abbeville has some of the best seafood restaurants and steaks anywhere. If you visit the Abbeville cultural Alliance Center you will be able to see all that Vermilion parsh and the surrounding area has to offer. Things like the Louisiana military museum at the Abbeville airport. Hidden Treasure RV Resort offers water, electric, and sewer at each of our 24 sites. Travelers looking for a peaceful country setting will enjoy our spacious, shaded sites on our private 11-acre campground just 20 minutes from Alexandria, LA. Guests have free access to our private boat launch and boat dock on Cotile Lake. Picnic tables are provided at our overnight sites. Fire pits, BBQ pits, or additional folding tables are available upon request. Bathhouse, laundry facilities, and Wi-Fi are available on site. The crumbling brick ruins of a sugar mill built in 1829 by Bernard de Marigny de Mandeville, founder of the nearby town of Mandeville, suggest an interesting history for this site, and indeed there is. The wealthy Marigny developed this area across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans as a sugar plantation until 1852. The plantation income helped support his lavish lifestyle. He named his large land holding Fontainebleau after the beautiful forest near Paris, a favorite recreation area of the French kings. The 2,800-acre park is located on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain. On a clear day, visitors can see the lake dotted with multi-colored sailboats of all sizes and types. The sandy beach also is a delight for sunbathers. An old railroad track that runs through the park has been converted into the Tammany Trace as a part of the Rails to Trails program. It is a wonderful route for cycling, hiking and in-line skating. After a full day of activities, overnight guests can enjoy the rustic charm of the campground or the scenic setting of the lakefront cabins. The park's nature trail is a favorite of nature lovers. Interpretive signs along the trail will help you identify many of the common trees and shrubs.
