The scenic pine forest offers plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing; keep an eye out for bears, deer, elk, osprey, geese, foxes, grosbeaks and whooping cranes. Visitors can also go searching for water creatures, with fishing being especially popular in this area. Rainbow, bull and lake trout are common at Summit Lake. You can also look forward to the Billy rice Swim Beach, and many spots to set up a picnic. The area around the beach also offers the space and trails for hunting, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking and off-road vehicle riding.

Lucky Peak Lake is located in the foothills of southern Idaho on the Boise River, and is home to Macks Creek Park Campground. The site stretches along the lake shore among shady trees and acres of natural brush. Expect stellar wildlife such as antelope, mule deer, bald and golden eagles and California quail and chakur.
