As you hike, bike and explore this lush area, keep your eyes open for curious wildlife like elk, moose, deer, bears, birds and smaller mammals. Campers can also look forward to water activities like fishing, cruising, paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking. Visitors can also take advantage of berry picking and birding. 

The Tally Lake Campground is located to the west of Whitefish, Montana, and offers world-class fishing and camping opportunities for visitors. Visitors can look forward to horseback riding, hiking and biking, as well as plenty of water sports such as trout fishing, canoeing, water skiing, swimming and kayaking. Take time at the waterside to fish for various types of trout or go water skiing or boating on the water during one of the area's many warm days. For those of you hoping for more relaxing activities, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing and swimming are also common at Ashley Lake. There's also plenty of space in and around the campsite for hiking, mountain biking and just plain exploring, so make sure to keep your trip schedule loose so you can really get lost in the gorgeous lakeside forest.

The Star Meadows Guard Station Cabin is located in near Tally Lake. Campers can look forward to world-class trout fishing at the lake, boating, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing and swimming. The area is thick with lush, thriving forestry, so visitors can also expect excellent hiking, biking and horseback riding trails, as well as plenty of fresh air. Hunting is also popular at this cabin, as is wildlife viewing and winter sports like sow shoeing, sledding and skiing. Just in front of the cabin is a small, grassy area, ideal for fun family events and group games, so bring your soccer and footballs for hours of group games! 

The Howard Lake Campground is located at the Kootenai National Forest. Campers can look forward to hiking the gorgeous paths and mountain ranges, and trails for mountain biking. Keep your eyes peeled as you explore your way through the fir and pine trees for moose, elk, bald eagles and deer; they're curious and normally friendly! Fishing and other water activities are also popular, so look forward to cruising, canoeing, paddle boarding and kayaking.
