The Fossil Ridge Campground is located in the beautiful Texas town of Denison and is a great spot for an authentic southern vacation. The campground is at Eisenhower Park, and is known for its breathtaking natural terrain, hiking and ATV trails and modern marina. Campers can look forward to a number of offsite attractions such as the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site, Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, Fairfield Lake State Park and the Waterloo Lake Regional Park. Among these sites, travelers can enjoy great sight seeing and outdoor fun like wildlife viewing, hiking, fishing, boating, paddle boarding and kayaking. Grandpappy Point Marina, Grayson County Frontier Village and the Red River Railroad Museum are other camper favorites. The Liberty Grove Campground is located at the beautiful Cooper Lake and is a great place for a quiet, relaxing Texas vacation. On the west side of the lake is the Cedar Creek East Loop for excellent scenic viewing and hiking. Biking and horseback riding are also common at this park. On the other side of the campground is the lake, which is perfect for swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. The campground is also perfect for picnicking, and many head out to various flat spots at dusk to enjoy sunset viewing and stargazing.
