We are right in the midst of a hub of activity, but our private rural setting is surrounded by hay meadows and views of the majestic San Juan mountains. Our large modern sites can accommodate large RVs. We offer free WiFi service and a convenience store, as well as thoroughly modern and clean facilities for your comfort. Although our park has a country feel to it, we are centrally located. The Sims Mesa Campground is located at the Navajo Lake State Park, New Mexico. Enjoy spectacular views of the forestry around the lake, and excellent fly fishing along the San Juan River nearby. Visitors to the campground can look forward to world-class fly fishing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing and boaters. You can also swim along the tributaries of the dam, and when you're ready to head on land, there's some excellent trails for hiking and biking, but you could always make your own trail. Look out for wildlife such as black bears, mule deer, mountain lions and squirrels as well as birds like canyon towhees and Stellar's jays. One hiking trail extends from the campsite, however, there are other trails just outside the site and excellent rock climbing opportunities at the Bandelier Monument. Campers also venture into town to pick up supplies at the various stores, go ice skating or even visit one of the museums.
