At an elevation of over 7,000 feet, the Ponderosa Horse Campground is the perfect place for a nice, cool getaway into the mountains of New Mexico. The site is located between Lake Alice and Lake Maloya in Sugarite Canyon, and is just 6 miles from the Bandelier National Monument, meaning there's tons to do and see, and lots of natural terrain to explore. The town of Los Alamos is also close by for your shopping needs, and there are museums, theaters and even an ice rink near the campground. Of course, be sure to explore the numerous hiking trails while you're there!

The Summerlan RV Park is located in Raton, New Mexico and is the perfect spot for passing through and taking in the beautiful sights and sounds of nature, while also avoiding the hustle and bustle of big city camping. At Route 555 around dusk, look forward to some excellent wildlife viewing, so keep your binoculars or cameras handy to see mule deer, elk, beautiful birds and even a reptile or two. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful, and can direct you to local attractions and eateries so don't be afraid to pick their brains!

The Gambel Oak Group Campground is located in the Sugarite Canyon and as the name suggests, is filled with spectacular gambel oaks and other beautiful trees. Look forward to hiking the natural landscape and exploring nearby areas like Lake Alice with tons of opportunities for water sports. Take your line out to the lake side for some stellar fishing, or go swimming, cruising or kayaking. To truly appreciate the park, make sure to chat with the rangers and learn from them the ins-and-outs of the canyon. Ask them about the best trails and picnic areas, as well as the best spots for stargazing. 

The Raton KOA is a great stopping point on a road trip between Colorado and New Mexico. Visit the great local attractions around this park, including: the Santa Fe Trail, Boy Scout Museum, downtown Raton's Historic District and Capulin Volcano National Monument. Depending on when you come, you can also look forward to small-town parades and fireworks, as well as various breathtaking ballooning events. The Valve Tenders Group Campground is located in Raton, in Sugarite Canyon. This is an active a farm. The old building site has been converted to RV parking. We have seven spaces. They are large 50 x 70 spaces with plenty of room to park other vehicles. Five of them are pull through. Each space has a 30 amp RV plug and a 20 amp GFI standard plug.
