The Alamo Lake State Park is located in the town of Wenden and is a great spot for a fun outdoor adventure. Half of the Forest lies east of Prescott and takes in the Black Hills, Mingus Mountain, Black Mesa and the headwaters of the Verde River and enjoys a Sonoran Desert landscape and warm atmosphere. And above the desert plateaus, Ponderosa pine dominates the landscape. Travelers can look forward to plenty of great activities at the park, including: white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, aerial tours, ATV tours and wide open skies for sunset viewing and stargazing.
