The Prescott National Forest is made up of about 1.25 million acres and borders three other National Forests in Arizona: Kaibab, Coconino and Tonto. As a result, campers can look forward to plenty of space for exploring and breathtaking views for scenic viewing and photography. Half of the Forest lies east of Prescott and takes in the Black Hills, Mingus Mountain, Black Mesa and the headwaters of the Verde River and enjoys a Sonoran Desert landscape and warm atmosphere. And above the desert plateaus, Ponderosa pine dominates the landscape. The Whitetail Group Site is located in the Coronado National Forest and is a great place for an outdoor adventure. Onsite, there's also a diverse and breathtaking terrain, perfect for exploring and scenic viewing. Travelers can also look forward to local landmarks like the Chiricahua National Monument, Saguaro National Park and the Tumacacori National Historic Park. Among these parks and the Grand Canyon, campers can enjoy some of the southwest's most iconic scenes and geological formations, as well as the excellent river rafting, climbing, hiking and mountain biking that accompanies these sites. There's also historical treasures nearby including the Cases Grande Ruins National Monument Fort Bowie National Historic Site and the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. For even more Arizona fun, the Kartchner Caverns and San Pedro National Riparian Conservatory Area are also relatively close by.

The Gilbert Ray Campground is located in the beautiful city of Tucson, Arizona and is a great place for a fun, yet relaxing southwestern vacation. Campers can look forward to a number of excellent local attractions such as the Arizona/Sonoran Desert Museum, Pima Air and Space Museum, San Xavier del Bac, Arizona History Museum and the Museum of Art. The Holt's Shell RV Park is located in the beautiful town of Gila Bend, Arizona, and is known for its excellent gift shop. Visitors can buy historical and cultural symbols, toys, clothes and art, all well-curated and gathered by staff local to the area. Guests can also head down to the city area for excellent eateries, or visit iconic Arizona sites like the Painted Rock Petroglyph Site, Desert Botanical Gardens, Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium and the El Dorado Hot Springs.
