This family-friendly park is operated in conjunction with the Desoto Caverns and they did a bang up good job. The excitement of the many attractions just bubbles over into the campgrounds. With 16 well shaded RV sites, they provide full hookups, electrical, water, sewage, pull-thru parking, grills, picnic tables, free WiFi, laundry, restrooms, private shower rooms, ice machine and fire rings. There’s a large pavilion and log cabin gift shop. If you prefer to pitch your tent, spots are provided for you at a reduced rate. This spot truly has it all. Guests are honored with free passes to the beautiful and historic DeSoto Caverns. But, there are over 20 more fun filled attractions, like the giant Lost Trail Maze and Wacky Water Golf. The kids (and adults) might like a game of Frisbee golf or to race each other on Pedal Go Karts. The Colbert County Alloys Park Campground is located on Wilson Lake, and offers RV, motor home and camper parking, as well as tent sites for primitive camping. The campground also provides electricity, water, sewerage, dump station, and boat ramp for year round enjoyment. Newly added is a large, lit pavilion with picnic areas and tables, showers and restrooms. They allow mostly back-in parking with one pull-thru, have big rig access, 30/50 amp connections and WIFI. For fun, there’s a kid friendly playground nearby, boating on Red Bay, nature trails and the park is within walking distance of a Robert Trent Jones golf course. Nearby, you can visit Helen Keller’s birthplace or check out the Muscle Sholes Sound Studios, and for dinner, you can’t beat Smoking on the Blvd where they serve outstanding BBQ chicken and ribs. Sounds like a great place to stroll through and enjoy nature at its best.
