Easily Book Campgrounds and RV Parks in Augusta, GA

About Augusta

Augusta RV parks and campgrounds are both around the city center as well as in neighboring communities like Aiken, Wrens, Waynesboro, and Warrenton, as well as near the Savannah River along the border with South Carolina. This area to the northwest of Augusta, commonly called Clarks Hill Lake, or Lake Strom Thurmond, is formed by the broadening of the Savannah River as it juts into the state of Georgia from its route between the border with South Carolina.

In the summer, popular spots around the Appling and Clarks Hill Lake region, like Mistletoe State Park and Pointes West Army Resort, come to life with outdoor enthusiasts. Mistletoe State Park is well known in the area as one of the best fishing spots in the nation for bass, and the park has almost 100 campsites running from full hook-up spaces to basic tent sites. If you or someone you’re travelling with is eligible to visit, check out Pointes West Army Resort, which offers former and active military the chance to relax and bond with their community in pristine Georgia lake wilderness. The area also has Wildwood Park and its disc golf course, and the Hamilton Branch State Park near Modoc, on the South Carolina side of Clarks Hill Lake.

Try Phinizy Swamp Nature Park, the Riverview Park Activities Center, or Brick Pond Park in Hammond’s Ferry, South Carolina. The Augusta Riverwalk is in the middle of downtown, and there are a comical number of golf courses in and around the city. This makes sense, as Augusta, Georgia is a golfer’s mecca of sorts. The avid golfer in your party can fill you in. While you’re in town, be sure to check out the Augusta Canal National Heritage Arena, The Imperial Theatre, and the Augusta Museum of History.
