About Sexsmith
Sexsmith is a town in the Peace Country region of Alberta in Western Canada. Located on Highway 36, Sexsmith is primarily an agricultural community with a population of 929 as of 2016.
Founded by Irish and Scottish settlers in 1881, Sexsmith was named after one of its founders, Richard Henry Sexsmith. Today, the town remains largely agricultural with potatoes and grain being major crops. Since 1989 Sexsmith has been home to an ice cream factory that sells throughout Alberta and into neighboring British Columbia.
Sexsmith is host to the annual Sexsmith Roundup Horse Show and Sale, which was established in 1982. Today, the event attracts participants from across Canada and is one of the largest horse shows in Canada. The showgrounds are also home to the local arena, which hosts a variety of social events including rodeos throughout the year.

Transportation in Sexsmith
The Town of Sexsmith is located next to the Town of Walden on Highway 605. It is a very small town with a population of around 500 people in total. The town has street lights and two bus stops, which are well-known to be the main forms of transportation for the townspeople. The buses that stop in Sexsmith are busses that travel on Highway 605 and stop at various places as well as for people who live there. There are also two trains that come through Sexsmith. The first is the Via Rail which travels from Vancouver to Toronto and stops in Sexsmith at around 5:30 pm. The second is the Canadian National Railway, which travels from Vancouver to Toronto but does not stop in Sexsmith.
