About Redcliff
Redcliff is a town in Alberta, Canada. It was named after the red clay of the surrounding hills. Redcliff is located on Highway 2 approximately 45 miles northeast of Calgary and 175 miles west of Edmonton. The city's 3,000 residents are primarily employed in farming and oil and gas production enterprises nearby.
The town's nickname among locals is "the City that Works".
Redcliff was founded in 1903 when the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) ordered the Calgary and Red Deer Railway to put a station in a town they were building on the south side of Highway 2. The town was then named "Clayton" but was renamed "Redcliff" when it was incorporated as a village in 1920. It became a town in 1937.
As well as being one of the major agricultural centers of Alberta, Redcliff is also an important oil and natural gas production center for the province.

The town of Redcliff is known for the "Big Redcliff" - a huge rock in the center of town. It's one of the first things visitors see when they come to visit and has been there since long before anyone owned a car.
One museum, two galleries, and two public libraries belong to the municipality as well as three art galleries and five churches. The Red Deer River runs through it all with parks situated along its banks where people swim in summer nights.
The town's name is derived from the word "Red", meaning redwood, and cliff, which is a cliff of rock or a sheer drop. There are many cliffs on the property of the old Hudson's Bay Company post at the north end of town. The Redcliff Museum and Gallery was one of these buildings. It was an old building that housed local craftsmen such as blacksmiths and woodworkers. Today it houses antique artifacts, photographs and paintings.

-Café Food haven-Newer café in town that has a variety of fresh food with many vegetarian options. This is one of my favorites if I'm wanting something more than just a national chain. They have everything from hot soups to homemade cookies.
-The Office Café-Many people in town will tell you that this place has the best wings and pizza around. They also have salads and baked potatoes, but it's their hot dishes that are most popular. -A Little Taste of Heaven-A little local pizza place that has great tasting food at a reasonable price. There are many different toppings available, from pepperoni to pineapple (yes, pineapple!). It's recommended for those wanting Italian food too.

You can also find casual shorts, tops and more for the whole family. Their clothes are made from natural fibers and are kid-friendly. Make sure to stop by and check out their wide variety of clothes; you will be surprised by their selection.
- Farmer's Nook
This small grocery store has all the basic necessities such as bread, milk, eggs, meat and more. You can get your fruit from Earthworks Farm or go for the seasonal kind for a good price. The staff are friendly and will be able to help you find what you need. They have some frozen food items as well which may come in handy if your power goes out at home.

Redcliff, Alberta is a small town with a population of just over 1,000 people. Redcliff has a small airport and can also be accessed by car from Alberta Highway 2A. As with most cities in Canada, the place is accessible either by bus or by taxi. Redcliff is also accessible by rail.
Redcliff, Alberta is served by Redcliff Airport. The airport has two runways and a terminal building, with commercial flights being limited to Air Canada and Westjet. The airport is also served by private carriers including High Level Aviation, Central Mountain Air and Lac La Biche Air.
Redcliff is a short drive south of Edmonton, Alberta and an hour north of Camrose. The city can be accessed by car on Alberta Highway 2A through the cities of Stettler and Wetaskiwin.
