Innisfail is the largest city in the County of Stettler. It is the agricultural heartland for the surrounding towns and area ranches but is only a short drive from numerous resorts and attractions. The city is named after Charles Cunningham Innes, who was an engineer on a surveying team that was surveying the Canadian Rockies back in 1885. The area was originally settled in 1905, but the town wasn't founded until March 15, 1906, when the townsite was staked.
