Located in Historic Virginia City, Montana, Rambling Moose Campground features full-hook-up and back-in sites for both 30 and 50 amp along with 2 camping cabins with beds (no linens) and electricity. Our bath house is always clean as is our laundry room. Don't forget to check out the unique Made In Montana items in our Gift Shop!
Our location is perfect for use as your base camp. We are located 1/2 mile from Historic Virginia City and Nevada City. World class fly fishing is just 15 minutes away and we are in the middle of some of the best hiking, biking, and UTV/ATV trails. Yellowstone is a short 90 minute drive away and Bozeman is 60 minutes.
Before you ask, YES, we have Moose occasionally rambling through the campground in addition to all other types of wildlife found in Montana. There are plenty of things to do around here along with many memories to be built! See you soon!

We Do Not Allow Tents or Canopies on RV sites. No mats allowed on grass, gravel areas only. We only allow propane fire rings. Wood fires are NOT allowed
We only allow 1 Car and 1 Camper per site. NO EXCEPTIONS. All guests must have parking permit on the rearview mirror while in the campground. Additional cars and atv trailers must pay $5 a day to receive a permit and will park in the area we designate.
No more than 2 pets allowed. Pets MUST be on a leash at ALL times or will be removed from the park. Owners must pick up after their pet and walk them in designated areas. No pets are allowed to be left alone outside of your RV for any reason. Barking will not be tolerated. If you cannot control your pet, you will be asked to leave the campground without refund. We are a busy park, cancellations within 10 days prior to arrival will NOT receive a refund. Refunds (for 3 nights or less) requested before the 10 day threshold will be refunded full amount, less RoverPass Fees and a $40 site deposit. Refunds (for 4 nights or more) requested before the 10 day threshold will be refunded the full amount, less RoverPass Fees and a $80 site deposit. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN for Memorial Day week, 4th of July week, and Labor Day week reservation cancellations FOR ANY REASON. Reservations are nontransferable to another party. IF YOU DON'T SHOW UP ON THE 1st NIGHT OF YOUR RESERVATION AND DO NOT CALL US, YOUR SITE WILL BE FOREFEITED AND GIVE TO ANOTHER CAMPER ON DAY 2.
Check-in time is no earlier than 1pm. Arrivals before 1pm will be charged an additional $5 per hour if your site is available. Check-out time is no later than 11am

Our campground is at 6300 feet above sea level, so the weather can turn on a dime. Make sure you are prepared for everything from sun to snow.
DO NOT FOLLOW GPS in this area. It is unreliable and will send you to the wrong place.
