The owner was very friendly and even had a light for us, since we got there at night. The site was nice with electricity and an extension cord. I did not realize that we would right next to an interstate. It was a little noisy sleeping at night in a tent. The restrooms were well supplied with toilet paper and paper towels. The restrooms did have a constant sewage smell and there were bugs in the shower. My son liked the games that were on site and in the shade. The nature trail was neat.

Campground Response

Hey Chelsea, thanks so much for your feedback. The sewage smell in the bathroom is not something I've heard about before, so it must be new. I'll definitely have it looked at and corrected immediately, as I'm not sure what would cause that. As far as bugs being in the shower, we clean the bathrooms regularly, but it is in fact a campground in the woods...and people leave the bathroom doors open all the time. So, that's not something we can ever prevent 100% of the time. But thanks again for staying with us, and we appreciate any and all feedback to help us make the park better!

Staff was friendly and accommodating, bathrooms were clean. Grocery store, restaurants, and gas nearby. Close to highway.

Campground Response

Thanks Mark, it was great to have you stay with us!

The campground worked well for a one night stopover. There is a steep hill to climb to get to the campground. The instructions to get to campground and parking were very clear and easy to follow.

The road and hill to the campsite is bad and that hill is far too steep.

Little difficult to get there, but worth it.Nice no frills park, would stay there again

We enjoyed our time tent camping at Turkey Hill! We came to RAMP with our kids. It was nice to be close to RAMP, save money, and hang out at the camp ground! It was perfect for what we needed. The bathhouses are clean and there’s plenty do at the campground. There’s also a splash pad/ playground and a larger playground less than 5 mins from Turkey Hill.

Campground Response

Thank you so much for the kind words, Kara! It was great having you stay with us, and we hope to see you again in the future!

Very steep uphill entry, no picnic table or fire pit at our site though some did have picnic tables and firepits, 2 unisex restrooms with showers, gravel sites, sites are adequate in size in length and fairly level but close together. This is a small park and not a big rig friendly. There is a covered partially enclosed open-air community center with a ping pong table and shuffleboard. The community center is under renovation. The owner supplied check in information via text and was very responsive to questions and issues via phone/text.

Campground Response

Janet, thanks so much for the review. I apologize for their not being a picnic table or firepit at your site. Sometimes people move them around without us knowing, but I'll make sure we get that taken care of. As far as big rigs, we have 40-43 foot RVs stay with us almost nightly, so I consider us pretty "friendly" to them, but you are correct, we only have 1-2 sites that can accommodate large rigs.

This park is off the beaten path, but is worth the little drive from the highway. The driveway is a little steep pulling a big rig, but it is doable. The spaces are gravel with electric and water hook-ups. We use it for overnight stays when traveling across country.

Campground Response

Sandy, thanks so much for the review, and the kind words. We look forward to having you stay with us again soon!

Very nice owner who actually brought a power adapter out to me during my late check-in. My wife loved the "in the woods" feel of the place. My only suggestion would be adding a laundry.

Campground Response

Great idea, Christopher, and we wholeheartedly agree! The laundry facility has been framed and sheetrock added inside the clubhouse area. We are just waiting on our plumber to complete some work and add a holding tank so that we can finish out the laundry room. Coming soon!!

This campground is in a nice area. The signs going into it are adorable. I know some reviews said something about a hill going into the campgrounds was bad, but it wasn't at all, and we have a big camper. We had the same campsite on the way to our destination and back. It was roomy and clean. We didn't have to even go into a building to check in. They texted our reservations with our site number, wifi username/password, as well as other information. We didn't use the bathroom at the campground because we have our own, nor did we use laundry facility, so I couldn't tell you about them. They do have a couple of outdoor games that we saw set up. There are only two reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5...the water pressure is low and the wifi isn't all that great. Otherwise, it was a comfortable stay.

Campground Response

Vickie, thanks so much for your review! I have great news...the water pressure issue has been FIXED! We now average around 50-60 psi, and so all is well in that area. I'm a little surprised by the Wi-Fi comment, as most customers actually leave reviews saying how good it is, and I've used it throughout the park with great results. Perhaps it was an issue on your end? Either way, thanks for staying and safe travels on your journey!

Very nice personnel. Quiet and rustic. Narrow row leafing to camp drive. Steep drive. Follow direction in text to camp site. You may need several leveling block, but personnel accommodating to move if available. Shuffleboard, ping-pong, corn hole, hiking trails. Felt safe and comfortable. I would stay again. Did not look at bathrooms.

A little hard to get too due to the narrow road but was a well maintained and beautiful campground.

We liked it a lot. The bathrooms are very clean and spacious. Hot water for the shower and with the electrical hookup I could use my induction cooktop to cook. We will be back definitely. Probably will try the rental RV's in warm and cold weather.

Campground Response

Thanks, David! We look forward to hosting you again soon!

we usually have great experiences at this campsite but, on Friday evening a Rottweiler was roaming the campground. I called the campsite and they did nothing, just said it was probably a local dog and I should squirt it with a hose. We had to walk our dog so I took the Rottweiler down the road so my wife could walk our dog. I would have liked a better solution to the problem from the campsite.

Campground Response

John, you'll be happy to know we were finally able to track down the dog's owner and return him.

This is a sweet little park on top of a hill that dead ends at the park. The text sent the day of our reservation with directions was critical since there is no street sign where you turn off across from “the mansion” (a critical and helpful landmark). Aside from a building (the “clubhouse”) with a bathroom and an open, but covered game area, there was an old abandoned school bus and one trailer other than ours the night we parked there. Outdoor lighting was nice and lots of gravel has been laid on the sites and approaches to them. The road leading up the hill is pretty steep toward the end culminating in the park and they had humorous signs about this. It was very quiet and felt safe. We would stay there again.

The owner made the stay super easy by communicating details of my reservation and answered any questions I had. The bath house facilities were very clean. I would recommend this campground to anyone!

It was quite the adventure getting into this place. We did experience low water pressure. It was quiet, so a good rest.

Campground Response

Thanks for the review, Scott! We have fixed the water pressure issue thanks to a holding tank and booster pump, so you should be good to go if you ever stop back by. :-)

Loved the area - Once we found you! 😉 Wish you could put a sign by the road that you turn on, may make it a little easier to get to you. Loved your signs going up and out of your park. ♥️♥️♥️

Campground Response

I wish I could put up signs on the road as well! Unfortunately I don't own the land coming in there. However, we are working with ALDOT to hopefully get something soon. Thanks again for staying with us, and safe travels!
