In reponse to Kathy's LIES: 1. The BAD happened when you verbally and physically threatened me on 12/1/21; I was out within 24 hours of YOUR aggressive and threatening behavior. This has been turned over to the sheriff's office as I am demanding a formal complaint against you and the Outpost be filed as there will undoubtedly be another instance of you threatening a guest. Furthermore, after leaving your office, you stillstried to charge extra motor cycle fees and I NEVER changed my mind on how many days my friend stayed - she WAS ALWAYS ONLY TO BE THERE 1 DAY. YOU ASSUMED and overcharged, now you're being called out on it. Please - Kathy's actions are not going to change until she is reported over and over again. 1 - contact POLK county sheriff's office if you are a victim of her threats and/or bullying. 2 - contact the OWNERS Andy & Sidney Pittman in Dade City. THIS IS ALL LIES BY KATHY: "We think this review is unfair & exaggerated. You stayed over 30 days, with all that bad going on around you. While in the office you said you understood your charges to your account! After departing it all changes? The credit you received for the overcharge was over what the amount was, correct? The charges for your friend staying, then not staying was you changing your mind. Then you wanted the motorcycle taken off. All these types of reviews are from those who did not want to comply with guidelines. Good luck."

Campground Response

There was no threat made to anyone by anyone here. This is type of review is posted by those who did not want to comply with the park guidelines. Calling people names is not a good idea to do on the internet as it is a form of bullying. Those who stay here are very happy with this park and the management team. “Candy, We are never happy to hear that a guest had a bad experience at our Park. In fact, our Staff (including us) work very hard to make our Park a safe, nice and relaxing place. We believe the fact that you stayed with us for over 30 days demonstrates that you enjoyed your stay for a substantial amount of time! In the spirit of trying to get along and make you happy, our manager credited your account. In fact, our financial records indicate that we credited your account more than what you claimed you were owed. We welcome any investigation by the BBB and others because we are not the party at fault. Sincerely, Drew (One of the owners)”

EDIT/ADDENDUM: THIS INCIDENT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO POLK COUNTY SHERIFF DEPT, CONSUMER AFFAIRS, BBB AND FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES. I felt physically threatened, on top of being overcharged, which is NO WAY to treat a guest. I am concerned the next "questioning guest" Kathy faces may have a worse altercation. She is a threat to herself and others. BEWARE - do not be alone under ANY circumstances with her or her husband!

Campground Response

This is a false claim with NO merit. The guest who usually leaves types of reviews are those who did not want to comply with park guidelines. Calling people names and claiming false claims of abuse online is a form of bullying.

WARNING - STAY AWAY! Campsite is on a MAJOR highway, has an airport across the street, construction directly behind the campground and a train track down the road; definitely NOT a quiet campground. The pictures posted on their site are photochopped and are from the "best" location at the park - which is NOT available! Wifi does not work - constant buffering. Prices are ridiculous for this location; and they are increasing 1/2022. WATCH YOUR BILL - she overcharges; but be careful when you question her as she WILL attack you, instead of admit her mistakes. On record - initally overcharged $53 BEFORE check in, then had 1 guest stay 1 night and she tried to charge for 2 guests + 2 nights + 2 overnight vehicle fees (which there was no extra vehicle), then she tried to charge extra motorcycles fees. All in all, it was over $80 overcharge in 1 month; which would not have been caught or corrected without me questioning the charges! Her response, "You question EVERYTHING (screaming at me)" and in an email, "Just wondering if this is it??? Are you still going to change this again and again?" One overcharge is a mistake, twice MAY BE an accident; but 4 times? This is habitual. Something is NOT right here... Read the other reviews - she has a history of being a bully. I traveled 10,500 miles from 8/4/21 - 10/30/21 without one complaint or problem. This is BY FAR the WORST site I've stayed at with the WORST 'MANAGEMENT' (I use that term loosely) EVER! I would recommend searching nearby campgrounds, even if you have to travel a little farther; save yourself the DRAMA of the angry camp managers. We camped at The Outpost RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sharing a new review because the management response to my last review made me want to share the full story. Because of a misunderstanding from constant changing rules, my husband wrote a one star review out of frustration. Honestly if they would have let him cool off I would have made him change it, instead they reached out to me and told me I could take our money and leave. I said we are paid through for two more weeks it would inconvenience me to leave today how about we stay until we are paid through and we will find another place to stay. (Which honestly the hassle of moving with a set of two year old twins two dogs and my husband working 7 days a week 12 hour shift. It would have been a huge headache to leave when his job site was getting close to wrapping up). She instead said she was going to then give us a 24 hour notice to leave or take down the review and we could stay. BLACKMAIL, I get where they were coming from bad reviews bad for business. But I the conversation that I had I would hold the phone away from my head as Kathy talked over me and I would wait and say would you please let me talk and explain where the review was coming from and it was because as a paying customer my husband was treated rude and was feeling unheard so he lashed out. Long story short we were then considered bad customers, got asked why I left a wagon unattended that I used to move laundry with my two Year old twins and only left to unload and reload the machines. Got yelled at for using a garden hose to clean an arts and crafts project up that got a little out of hand While trying to make memories. Was told to take on the responsibility of calling a repair man for laundry machines when i was just trying to inform them there was puddle on the floor they might want to look into. Why are you getting paid to manage a place if you won’t manage it. Getting called a re threatened to be kick out because someone else wrote a bad review. The worst was the constant feeling of what will happen next, will I come home and have the notice and will have to figure out a new place to go? Will my children’s playing break a unwritten rule again? It was stressful to the point you don’t feel you can enjoy your own dwelling. The main thing is the manger that I mainly talked to didn’t talk to me like I was her customer she talked to me like I was a child in trouble and it felt demeaning. I hope that this review can help someone make an informed decision before they experience the same hostility and stress that we experienced there.

Campground Response

Wow your time here was lengthy, here Nicole. We sincerely hope you find your perfect park.

Honestly they place is clean the area looks nice, but this one star review comes after the way the management treats their customers. They act like they don’t need you, you need them so take you money else where if you don’t like how we act.

Campground Response

Nicole, We thank you for your time to review the park. Thanks for the comment the place looks clean. All parks have rules. If you had followed the rules as the other guest were doing, there would not have been a problem. Safe travels.

We stayed at the Outpost for 3 months. It was a hassle from the beginning. We first got in trouble for putting things on the grass, then it was we weren't parking in the right spot, when I went to pay rent, the managers would always ask me to "keep an eye out for my side of the park" I thought that was your job Ma'am. One day, she comes zooming by on her Gold cart and proceeds to stop by and act all nice and looks under a tarp on MY lot that I PAY for. She says " Oh you cant have that freezer" " its illegal" So she tells my husband later in the evening it has to go! Mind you, I have a deep freezer full of food. Are you kidding me? We dont move it. She texts us. Instead of calling like a decent, professional manager would and said you had all weekend to move your freezer, if not moved you will have an eviction notice! Too bad we already were moving that day! We had been harrassed and rules changed the whole time. I finally had enough. If you dont join the Saturday night get togethers and mingle, you can forget about staying here!!! Worst RV park Ever!!! I would NEVER recommend to anyone!!!!

We stayed at The Outpost RV Resort, Winter Haven, Florida for two nights during April 2019. This was an emergency stay. Our truck broke down and had to be towed to the dealer for repair. A good Samaritan pulled our travel trailer to The Outpost RV Resort and placed the trailer on one of the many open lots. The snow birds had left Florida and The Outpost RV Resort had many, many open lots. Management at The Outpost RV Resort understood our length of stay was undetermined and would come to an end as soon as the dealer was able to repair our truck. We paid for three nights with the understanding that the length of our stay would be adjusted to coincide with our truck being repaired. When we told management of The Outpost RV Resort we would be leaving after two nights they refused to refund the unused third night. This part also lacks attention to detail. When we opened the cover for the electrical panel in order to plug-in, a swarm of bees came out and stung my husband. We do not recommend The Outpost RV Resort.

Campground Response

We appreciate your time to leave a review. We do hope you did receive a full refund as per your request. The problem with the electrical boxes during the warm season get bee's nesting daily, and we do apologize we did not catch that. Safe travels.
