The Colonies RV & Travel Park

We stayed here in mid-October and I have to say it is one of the most enjoyable parks ever. This was at one time a military family camp, but the base has been deactivated and it is now privately owned. In the main camping area there are 13 sites - each named for one of the original 13 colonies. They are full hook-ups and big rig friendly. Water and beaches are just yards away. The area is great for water sports, biking, and walking. Available to the campers are a rec room, a TV room, and a full kitchen. I kind of missed WiFi, but there are so many other things to do not having it wasn't a disaster. There is one down side - - sand spurs. These nasty, sharp little burrs are everywhere. Even though the grass is short and well maintained, the burrs are there. After one short venture into a grassy area, we decided pavement was the only way to travel.
