We loved our overnight here and the owners are so nice. Beautiful stream and they have a pavilion we played ping pong at, then we enjoyed a fire in the fire pit.

We were heading to Hungry Mother State Park from Newport News VA for a week, and didn't want to travel 500 miles, so we decided to stop at Swedish Lilac Campground which was approximately 1/2 way. We stayed for 2 nights at site 4. Very level and sunny for a cooler early fall day. Bathhouse was nice. 2 showers, and toilet stalls. Water was hot and bathhouse was very clean. So .. on the way back from HMSP we stopped for a night at site 15. This is our first Private owned campground we've stayed at since we've been traveling the county for over 5 years. I recommend camping at this campground if you're around that area. There's a lot of hiking and biking trails but you have to drive a few miles to them. Saint Mary's wilderness and Crabtree Falls is close as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very fair prices. Owners were great people. Definitely will go back and camp again.

Very nice folks, big sites, not crowded together at all. A little hard to find, since the sign is quite small (2'x2'?), and low to the ground. Stayed one night while traveling south, a second while traveling north. Rail line less than 100 yards from the camp was kinda noisy, but not bad if you like trains! Will recommend, and will probably stay again, if in the area.

What a great place. Has a beautiful river right there that if I was there longer I would have put a chair in the water and just sat there. This is a great place for a group. They have plenty of space and pavilions. Valerie and Fritz were so nice and accommodating. Would go back in a heart beat.

We really enjoyed ourselves over the weekend here. We were fortunate enough to have the entire campground to ourselves which resulted in a very relaxing weekend. The owners were extremely attentive and nice, allowing us to check in early and giving the option of a late check out as well! The bathrooms were super clean and spacious (2 stalls and 2 standing showers) and they even had good Wi-Fi! You can walk down to river access from any campsite, which was nice for us and the dogs. Having a picnic table fire pit and barbecue grill at each campsite made it very easy to enjoy ourselves. They even provided us with dry firewood to burn! 2 different pavilions (where we saw deer frolicking in the evening) provided plenty of choices to have lunch for larger groups. Most of the sites seemed pretty level and the ground was easy to get stakes into. Lots of grass and plenty of shady spots throughout the day. We will definitely be back later this year! Thanks for a great getaway weekend.
