The Sleepy Hollow RV Park is located in the beautiful town of Conroe and is a great spot for an authentic southern adventure. Historic downtown Conroe is a great place for exploring and soaking in local art, the Sam Houston National Forest is great for scenic viewing and the Southern Star Brewing Company are camper favorites. Campers can also look forward to a number of nearby attractions such as the W G Jones State Forest which is popular for its hiking trails and 2 small lakes for fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking. The 7 Acre Wood petting zoo and mini-golf area is also excellent for group fun, and Lake Conroe Park and Recreation Area are both perfect for nature walking, fishing and swimming. The park is also a short drive from Houston, and is in an ideal spot for a day trip to this bustling Texas metropolis. In Houston, travelers can look forward to an urban adventure, with plenty of great restaurants, entertainment, art galleries, museums and historic sites to enjoy. Having made the lifestyle choice of full time RV’ing and having stayed two summers at Lake Lenwood it is without doubt among our most loved and memorable stays. We are in our ninth year traveling the United States and have stayed at some of the best and some of the worst RV Parks and campgrounds. We are experienced and qualified and confidently report Lake Lenwood is a gem. Often situated in tight spaces leaving little room between sites, RV Parks seem sanitized of young life. No families, no children, no life. Lake Lenwood is a family campground and is alive with families enjoying solitude in a peaceful country setting. Having stayed at many campgrounds we all too often find unsightly dilapidated campers/trailers where adults gather for a weekend to party. Here, those who visit hoping for relaxation often find unconcerned parents with unsupervised children left roaming thru the peaceful campers private campsite. The focus seems to be the adult and late night parties and unattended barking dogs. Lake Lenwood shows pride of ownership and attracts quality families/campers who desire a quality camping experience. Those who cannot or will not respect others, the rules and the peaceful surroundings will find many campgrounds who will accept the adult party weekend camper.

Been camping many years, at many camp grounds and find this is our favorite. If you are the whoop howling brawling camper, this isn't the place for you. We love the safe family feel, great fishing and swimming lake. They have a wonderful beach, park and play ground, raft, horseshoe, sliding and diving board. The lake is so clean, you can see the bottom at 10 feet. There are boats, hydro cycles, tubes and kayaks to rent. Rules are high on a list for safety and enjoyment for good reason. We find this is a great campground close to the best hiking, biking and the best parks you will see anywhere. We would not have found these parks if we were not geocachers. West Bend is one of the largest areas for geocaching with over 3,000 hides and has a international geocaching fest every year in August. Don't past this campground up, it is a great place and the owners really put much effort to make this park safe, clean and enjoyable to all. Also don’t forget to ask for any discounts like Good Sams andduring the week rates.i don’t know why they have this price as high as listed, because it isn’t.
