Sam Billings Memorial Campground

The Sam Billings Memorial Campground is located in a scenic area along the West Fork of the Bitterroot River, and is surrounded by yellow-bark poinderosa pine. Visitors can look forward to free air, and wide open spaces for hiking, biking and exploring, as well as the nearby river for water activities. This campground is popular for trout fishing at the river, as well as river rafting, boating and some swimming. The Painted Rocks Lake is also relatively close by for even more water fun and gorgeous views of the Montana wilderness. Also be sure to keep your eyes open for wildlife like deer, elk and curious moose, as well as the occasional small creature and bird. The Horse Creek Hot Spring is also nearby for a soak in pure, mineral water!
