Always a great place, and the 'gem of the Gorge', maintaining low prices across changing times as America's newest national park is being discovered by all. They've made mistakes in the past, but they've refunded and made up for them. They try to stay true to their word and mission, to provide a safe haven for people coming in to explore the New River Gorge area, and they continue to do so. They're even open to having you in the winter, when the bath house is winterized/not accessible, and firewood/ice costs are also low.

Gorgeous Fall campground! The foliage here was as stunning as anything we’ve seen in Autumn. The owners are very friendly and responsive. The showers are the warmest and nicest we’ve had at any affordable campground or state park. Some of the Campsites are close to each other and not big, but on a weekday there were few people there so we had plenty of space. $4 laundry, dumpsters, and water. No septic dump. Small but nice, newer playground for kids. Only 9 minutes away from the famous Natural Bridge. The crazy low prices are because there’s a charge per adult after 1 and per dog, so plan for that.

Special thanks to Jake that is very helpful and gives us a great welcome smile! The community kitchen is the best for a quick meal prep for a tired camper after exploring the National Park all day. The bathhouse is also well maintained and clean. We will book again soon together with our friends.

I love this campground, tons of spots to choose from, showers, free breakfast, and it's in a great location especially for Bridge Day.

Second visit and it feels like home. Rays is great for outdoorsy folks who like a bohemian camp atmosphere. Kat and Jake and a warm and wonderful host couple and I love the central office with it's 24 hour kitchen. You can write on the walls with sharpies. My cabin is always clean and I haven't found a better price so far. Free coffee and good conversation in the morning. Very safe for solo female traveler.

We stayed here for a stop-over on our way to Tennessee. We got there late, and had to leave in the morning. What a cute and quaint campground!! I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back. The RV was cute, clean, and the bed was SUPER comfy. Thank you for the stay.

Ray’s is always amazing! I talk about that campground with so many of my friends and always stay there when I’m in town. Everything is clean, spread out, the staff is amazing, and it is an all around amazing space.

Small, quiet, well kept, showers, very reasonably priced and just a few miles from Canyon River visitor center and New River Gorge Bridge. Only a few electric sites but they are good sized and spaced well.

Great Place to Stay near the gorge. Loved the place, but a word of advice of you rent a cabin, bring a sleeping pad as well, the mattresses are very firm. Staff was super helpful, and campground was quite after dark. Lock your coolers, the raccoons snatched a sub right out of mine!

Great atmosphere. The managers are really cool. There is a building with a full kitchen, fridge, bathroom, picnic tables and lounge plus you can write on the walls. And they make coffee in the mornings. Makes for a fun atmosphere like a hostel. I rented a cabin - they are basic (bring your own linens) but it was clean and smelled woody. The cabins have a plug in heater or fan (no a/c). There is a central shower/bathroom building that was clean and accessible. Shower curtains were a little gnarly but otherwise fine.

This is my second time staying at Ray's Campground. I loved it 9 years ago so I decided to stay here again. Despite the fact that it was packed, being the weekend after the fourth of July, everyone was fairly courteous getting quiet around 10 PM. The facility was clean, everyone was helpful and nice. When I make my way down again, I will definitely be staying at Ray's!

Nice spot. Tent sites are super close to each other so don't expect any degree of privacy. Management is delightful and friendly. Price/value is incredible. Showers are free. Interesting observation: I had to hit the road very very early to get to my next destination on time. As I left the campground at 3:30am, people were out for walks, sitting around campfires and I noted two family groups sitting at picnic tables chatting and up very late. Seems rather odd to me but to each his or her own as they say. I found it to be interesting.

Excellent little campground stop on our way to Tennessee!!!! The only thing that we had a little trouble with was pulling out of the campground road and turning right. Our camper is 34 feet. It was a little tricky! But don’t let this discourage your visit here….. Excellent, friendly, and very welcoming hosts!

The campground hosts were very nice and personable. The campground is in a good location, equidistant between national and state parks. I stayed in a reserved tent site and also a cabin. The tent site was close to other people so it wasn't great but for $11 per day per person, it's ok. The cabin was $50 per night and for one person it wasn't a good value. If there were 3 or more people it would be a good deal. There was only one outlet in the cabin so plugging in a lamp and a fan at the same time was about all I could do. Luckily I had a dual outlet plug so I was able to plug in my phone charger too. Other than the reserved sites there is other land where a tent can be pitched. It is a little walk to the shower building. The office had a freezer and refrigerator available 24 hours per day. There is a large shelter and grills for use by everyone. There is an community room but it was pretty sad. I wouldn't want to spend any time in there. There is very good wifi but it doesn't extend throughout the campsite. You really have to be near the office to get wifi. Facilities - the shower building is old and rundown. There was plenty of hot water. The trash needs to be removed more frequently because it was overflowing after the weekend. There weren't many bugs. I didn't go near the pond. All in all I would stay again because of the location and the cost. I would pitch my tent in the non- reserved spots as close to the shower building as I could.

Enjoyed our weekend at Ray’s Campground. We stayed in The Oar House. Five of us slept in this rustic cabin The Oar House has a double bed size bunk set, a twin size bunk bed & one single bed. The upper bunks do not have guard rails. We did not use the upper bunks & instead put an air mattress on the floor between the bunks , which worked fine.. There is a table (very helpful) & 1 functional chair. The provided fan was effective for airing out the initial sour/musty smell, & for cooling. The Oar House is back in the trees & peaceful. The campground bathrooms were well maintained. We would stay at Ray’s again
