At an elevation of over 7,000 feet, the Ponderosa Horse Campground is the perfect place for a nice, cool getaway into the mountains of New Mexico. The site is located between Lake Alice and Lake Maloya in Sugarite Canyon, and is just 6 miles from the Bandelier National Monument, meaning there's tons to do and see, and lots of natural terrain to explore. The town of Los Alamos is also close by for your shopping needs, and there are museums, theaters and even an ice rink near the campground. Of course, be sure to explore the numerous hiking trails while you're there!
