The Joe Skeen BLM is located in Grants, New Mexico and was established in 1987 protect nationally significant ecological, cultural, geological, scenic, scientific and wilderness resources located around the Grants Lava Flows. Visitors to the area can look forward to beautifully preserved sandstone cliffs, canyons and the La Ventana Natural Arch. These natural formations connect the New Mexico terrain to the culture and history of the area's Native American past and present, giving them significance beyond it's asthetic appeal. Enjoy hiking the numerous trails, climbing, biking and plenty of site seeing in this amazing park. You can also enjoy caving, picnicking and horseback riding.
After a long day of having fun, you can return to one of ten camp sites or your primitive site. Campers have access to toilets, picnic tables and a dump station. Be sure to plan for a long trip so you can truly enjoy the beauty and wonder of this New Mexico treasure!
