Veterans Memorial Park & Campground is an amazing spot to stop on your way through Monterey. It’s the closest campground to the aquarium and the downtown Monterey area being about 1 mile away. You can even hear the sea lions barking from the harbor at night. The only problem here would be the 25’ length limit. If your RV is 25’ or less this place is perfect at $35 per night with hot showers included. Veterans park is open to everyone whom loves camping in a beautiful urban forest. This hidden Gem has hiking trails with ocean views, a nice playground and large grassy area to play or relax on. Dogs are welcome on leash in the camping area and are allowed to run free (if well behaved) out on the grass. The staff is very nice and helpful but not always available so check the rules & instructions at the “self registration station” first.
