Heron Lake
Overview
Heron Lake is located in the Heron Late State Park in Los Ojos, new Mexico. Look forward to immaculate pines and fresh air around one of the areas most popular fishing lakes. Locals and visitors alike take advantage of stellar kokanee slamon and record-size trout, as well as a boating dock of early morning excursions. This lake is popular as well because it's designated as a "quiet lake," and boat operators cannot get up to wake speeds. This makes it perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing. Your can also enjoy wildlife viewing; keep your eyes open for deer, elk, mountain lions, osprey, bald eagles and black bears.

This is a beautiful park! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The park is surrounded by the beautiful desert that has wildlife all over the place, great off-road and hiking trails and rock hounding opportunities! They had all the amenities we could ask for that took care of our needs. They had some very fun and relaxing activities to choose from that would excite anyone. The location is great as there was so much to see inside the park as well as the surrounding areas. I liked how everything was maintained as it really helped the state of everything.
