RUTLEDGE LAKE RV PARK (FLETCHER, NC) Site: # 10 Lakeside (Back-in) Length of stay: 10 days (Saturday - Monday) Site fee/night: $57.20 (avg of 3 rates) (W/E/S) Discounts/special rates: AAA, Good Sam, AARP, and Military (10%) Site material: Most of the park, sites and park roads are all gravel. A couple of concrete pull-thrus. Some sites have concrete R&R area (ours did). Paved roads into and around the park are a bit rough with a few potholes. Hookups/amenities: W/E/S/50 amp, wood and metal picnic table, steel fire pit/grill. Cable TV and WiFi are free... bring coax cable. Firewood ($6.50) and ice are sold on site. There's a very nice recreation room with a pool table, ping pong, a large TV, sofas and other furniture. The pool area looks nice though it was closed for winter. Bathroom/Showers/Laundry: Bathrooms/showers are very clean and climate controlled. Laundry on site is clean with multiple washers and dryers. $2 to wash or dry. Cell signal: AT&T: 4 bars Starlink: unobstructed - internet and streaming outstanding. Pets: allowed on leash. A couple small grassy areas with dog πŸ’© stations are around the park. Exercise Opportunities: gravel roads around the park and lake to walk around. There are a couple of trails that go through the woods around the property. Propane Availability: Propane is available nearby at Ace Hardware four miles away. $24.99/flat fee for 30lb bottle so make sure it is empty. Mail/parcel delivery: As always, we called a few days before arrival to ask about mail deliveries and they gave us the πŸ‘and confirmed address with an emphasis on JILLIAN not JULLIAN. We tracked arrival, office didn't notify us. Comments: This is a very nice park, another hidden gem. The lakeside sites are very nice, but they are a little tight. Much of the park is on a hill so the sites are terraced down the hill. They are mostly level though we did use a couple of Legos under the utility side wheels. There is a ton of construction going on for about 10 miles on I-26, but the park is only a couple of miles off the highway. There is a pretty visible sign on Airport Rd before the corner turning onto Rutledge Rd. There is a sharp corner closer to the park, but flashing lights warn you and once you reach the lake you can see the park easily from the road. Check out is 12PM and check-in is 1PM which is nice! We received a reservation reminder email a week out and a then another with directions and other info a couple days before check in. At check in you are escorted to your site and assisted with backing in if desired. The office and park staff are very nice and helpful. Most of the sites especially the pull throughs and lakeside sites can accommodate any size rig. Tow vehicles/toads may need to be parked perpendicular. There is a tiny bit of airport noise occasionally, but not enough to remember there is an airport nearby. The geese on the lake can be heard throughout the night, but nothing that we found annoying. In fact, this is one of the quietest parks we have stayed at. There are quite a few park models that seem to be full-time occupied and others for rent. There are also quite a few full-time residents, but all of the sites are held to a very high standard. The entrance is gated and you are given a card for access that must be dropped off when you leave. There are security cameras everywhere and notification signs for pet owners where there have been pesticides applied, both of which are nice. This park is right in the middle of town so you have access to fuel, groceries, shopping and restaurants just 1.5 miles away. The Biltmore estate is 10 miles away (30 minute drive) and of course Asheville is about 15 miles away. We visited this park during the winter, but with all of the shrubbery and landscaping this place would be absolutely beautiful during the spring and summer. We would definitely come back here again!
