The worst ever rv park I ran into

Pros: Nice bathrooms. There was a men's, women's and ADA accessible. They were clean and maintained. The showers were nice with hot water. This was especially great, since there wasn't sewer hookups included and we needed to save space in the tanks. After a long day hiking in the heat, we all needed showers. The power was wonderful since it was over 100 degrees when we were there. It was nice to run our A/C all night for a comfy night's sleep. It was close to the park entrance. It took about 25 minutes to get to the southern gate of Yosemite. It was very quiet. Cons: The RV park is really 3 levels of gravel. I'm not sure why they assigned us to our spot because we had to manuver between the hill in the back and the cliff in the front. Ours was one of the longer spots (#25). So if you have a long trailer (ours is 29 feet), it might be really difficult to park without the danger of driving over the cliff. There isn't much shade. You have to climb 3 flights of stairs from the lower level to get to the bathrooms and showers. We were parked next to 3 other trailers, which seemed to be permanent residents. They were quiet and didn't bother us. I wouldn't stay here again. It was nice to have a space close to the park. We spent so much time in Yosemite, that we really only slept in our trailer.

Convenient to Yosemite, about 1.5 hr drive to the valley floor. Convenient to Oakhurst town for groceries, restaurants. Fairly level parking on gravel. Hookup for W/E. Note: there is no one on site, you just pay online and go to your spot. When we arrived someone was parked in our spot. They claimed someone was in their spot. So they called the contact phone number and learned their site number was changed. The campsite issue was resolved and we were all settled. We chose this campground for having laundry, but the code to the laundry didn’t work. The code for men’s bathroom didn’t work. I called contact number, no answer so I left a message. They never called back so I called again, no answer and no response to my message. We took laundry to town and sat in 100 degree heat (no AC in laundromat and 105 outside. Then we find out there is no dump station. The website never said ‘no dump station’ and we assumed without investigating. Our fault. One morning we met a man who said he was the owner of the campground . We told him about codes not working, which he said he would fix. They were never fixed. There is a building beside bath facilities with rooms that are rented long term. Some sketchy characters coming in and out of those. There are 3 parking levels for campers. Top level is for long term residents. Middle level, where we were, has 3 short term sites. Lower level is mix of short and long term. Not that many campers total, but lots of cars coming in and out! Wouldn’t stay here again due to lack of communication, lack of availability to promised amenities of laundry and bathrooms.

Decent rv park for decent price. Did a pitstop enroute to yosemite. Restrooms were super clean and spacious.

Nice place to not be at during the day. The bathrooms are a bit of a walk. But it’s quiet. I didn’t venture around to see if there was anything to do but seemed like it’s just a place to park your RV and rest which is exactly what I needed. So it suit my needs perfectly.

After parking and wading through knee high grass I noticed dog poop around my rv entrance. I soon realized the campground is apparently self service, including the need to call a septic pumping service when my tanks were full. I immediately found another campground and left. The following day, Monday, I tried to communicate my cancellation but had trouble with Rover and the camp administration. The worst experience all around including the narrow hard to maneuver sites

0 stars out of 5. The buildings were dilapidated, we couldn't get a code for the amenities, and there was no one on site to help. The place looked abandoned and was in very poor condition. There were hardly any RVs there which tells you something! Do not pay any money to stay there. As for a resort, maybe 20 years ago but it's now a ghost resort. I can't believe they advertise it this way, it's false advertising and a rip off.

Most expensive and worst park ever stayed in! We are on a 30 day rv trip to the NW and multiple National Parks with our 24 foot rig. I made a mistake on my reservation for the 26th so scrambled to find a place to stay outside of Yosemite. We found Granite Mountain RV in Oakhurst had space available. It was $88 with tax. It is the most expensive and worst park we have ever stayed in. There were no staff available anywhere. Our site was filled with puncture vine "goat head". It got in our shoes, our tires and dog's feet and pricked our hands. We got a shovel and cleaned it up to stay there. The electricity didn't work, we used one next to us. The sites next to us had sewer overflow toilet paper that was not cleaned up and trash. The recycle was overflowing and the lights in shower and sink didn't work. The upper loop was paved but full, we were in the lower dirt sites. What a rundown place!

Horrible place. Entry road big potholes. No customer service present. Traffic noise. No sewer hookup. No views. Basically a gravel parking lot with electricity and water hookup.

Clean facilities and nice park. No dump station or no sewer hook up is a big negative for me. Also the communication is not fantastic, I received no response with questions about late checkin or late check out.

Place was ok when we arrived someone was in our spot and gave us issues when asked to move. No one was reachable at the office so we were left to deal with it ourselves. Person finally moved but remained a very unpleasant stay. Laundry room was wicked hot, and dirty, no change machine so we had to go into town and everyone refused to give up change for laundry. Machines were incredibly expensive, 3.00$ to wash and 2.00$ to dry. Second day tried to get ahold of office and again no one would make themselves available. Sheriff’s were there cause kids were breaking into RVs, how do you run a place and are not present for your paying customers? Why do I have to fight with someone who is in my spot that I paid for? Over all pooled run/ not run at all left to fend for yourself, but quiet.

Campground Response

We are very sorry for not meeting your expectations during your stay. We know how important it is to our guests to have a positive experience during their travels. We are processing a refund for one night of your stay, and hope that you will give us another opportunity in the future should your travels lead you back to our area. Below is some additional information regarding your feedback. We are using the information to improve our operation. From time to time, guests do indeed park in the wrong spaces even though they are clearly numbered and our property map shows each space location. We apologize that the guest was not friendly to you about the situation. We apologize about the temperature in our laundry & kitchen area while you were there. We were informed about the issue on or about the dates of your stay and the repair took longer than expected. We are in a small town with limited air conditioning service providers, and they have been very busy during the recent heat waves. To create value for our guests, our laundry is at or below the local laundromat a few miles away. They are currently charging $7.00 for a wash load and $2.00 for the dryer. During your stay dates, we were on property Monday - Friday and available via phone or through Roverpass messaging. We did not receive any messages, calls, or voicemails regarding the situations you mentioned. We are sorry that we did not have the opportunity to resolve these issues while you were with us. Lastly, we have no knowledge of any situation regarding the Sheriff or any break-ins. None of our long-term residents or short-term guests reported any law enforcement related issues to us. The local Sheriff's Office has our contact information and did not communicate any issues to us either. We are now looking into this situation, so thank you for letting us know. Again, we are very sorry for the issues you encountered during your stay. Granite Mountain Resort Management.
