First time there in about 15 years which means it was my first time since they had modernized the place. Let me say it is a nice place to visit but I would not want to camp there. 41 campsites with 22 having electricity. Unfortunately, that is roughly 15 more then they need. The sites are small, many not big enough to accommodate a PopUp much less a large RV. They are very close together and if because of storms or what, there is a lack of vegetative screening between the cramped sites. The bathhouse and showers were nice however. The riverside picnic area is very nice. A much better alternative would be Cedar Point CG/ Recreational area at Cape Carteret which is 30 minutes way or for dry camping the campground at Oyster Point. Both of these campgrounds are also in the Croatan NF.
