City of Rocks RV offers wide open mountain views at the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve. We provide partial hookups (water and electric 20/30/50), "Big Rig" pull-thru sites, Pioneer Bathrooms (rustic outhouse), and the beauty and seclusion of the Silent City of Rocks and the Almo Valley. We also have tent sites available with elevated tent pads, wind fences, shade tarps, 15 amp power, hammock poles, and bathroom, water, and garbage access. Enjoy our new enclosed, leash free, dog play area. We are conveniently located just outside the entrance to the Park on the City of Rocks Road. Big Rig access has always been limited in the City of Rocks so we made every site large with pull thru access. Public RV dump station is only 1 mile away. Whether you are here to climb, camp, hike, snowshoe, bird, fish, hunt, stargaze, relax, or all the above, we offer the ideal base-camp. We newly opened April of 2020 and as a result we don't yet have mature shade trees and the landscaping is scattered native grasses. We are continuously working on landscaping improvements to make your future stays even better. New for 2024, improved wind and shade fences for the tent areas and 15 amp power at each site! Also our NEW Outdoor Shower is available May to Sept. We hope to see you soon!

*We are privately owned and not affiliated with the City of Rocks National Reserve.

We are now open! We are 50 minutes from the I-84 freeway. Take exit 216 to Declo, Albion, Pomerelle, and follow signs to the City of Rocks. Go thru Almo and past the visitor center and PAST Camp and Climb. That is not us!!!! Turn right at 3075 S., the pavement ends and we are just up on the right. If you are traveling from Utah, travel to Malta, then hwy77 to Almo. Dont shortcut on gravel. Do not go thru Oakley! Gravel roads are awful. Get your major groceries before heading out as Burley is the closest grocery store.

City of Rocks National Reserve- You are right at the entrance to the park. Amazing places to hike, climb and explore. My grandfather ran sheep all over this area. My great uncle even put in the handles to climb Bathrock! A must see. Highly recommended.

Castle Rocks State Park- With a fishing pond, 3D archery range, hiking, biking, and rock climbing, this is one of our favorite places ever! Parking requires a $7 day use fee.

Durfee Hot Springs- Crystal clear untreated hot water flows in and out of these relaxing hot tubs and pools. A local favorite after dark or on hot days! Seasonal hours.

Tracy General Store- Great antiques in the oldest continuously running General Store in Idaho. Homemade Ice Cream! 24 hour Gas and Diesel available. Great burgers and fries. Sandwiches, etc. Not speedy or for large groups. Closed Sundays

Rock City General Store & Pizza- Great Pizza and an amazing selection of beer. Limited Seasonal hours.

Indian Grove and Logger Springs (Almo Park)- You drive through the City of Rocks and drive UP to get here. Hike down into Indian Grove for a great view. Keep driving if you are brave (narrow and steep) to see beautiful pine forests and Logger Springs. Also a local hunting secret.

Pomerelle Ski Resort- Great affordable ski resort 30 minutes from Almo. Lake Cleveland is accessible here during the Summer.

Independence Lakes- Alpine Lakes above Almo/Elba Valley offer fishing and beautiful views. Access from Elba to the trailhead. 3.5 mile hike to the Lakes. Plan on a full day outing.

Outpost Steakhouse- Steaks, Salads, Burgers.  Seasonal hours.

Nice place great host, was stuck next to a tree that had hundreds of yellow jackets which came into our RV, not level sites, wish they had full service including WIFI in the sites but overall ok as they stated Verizon does not work that is why suggest wifi

Campground Response

Thanks for staying Alan! We are super excited we actually have trees big enough the bugs want to stay as well. That's a big deal around here! We have taken care of the yellow jackets. They are active this time of year getting ready for winter.

We had a great time here. Rustic, clean (very clean), and orderly. Gravel sites, both pull-thru and back in available as well as some tent sites. Vault toilets ( cleanest vault toilets I have ever seen!) and rustic shower. Very quiet and great for stargazing. Owner very friendly and helpful about the area. Practically next door to City of Rocks National Reserve

Campground Response

Hi Johnny, we are glad you stayed with us!

We stayed at an off time and had the place mostly to our self. Clean, nice outdoor shower and the owner was super nice. He gave us many suggestions for rock climbing, biking and hiking. City of Rocks was very close as well as Castle Rock and other outdoor activities.

The proprietor Russ was terrific, very informative about options for exploring and the history of the region. Facilities very clean and the par is only one mile from City of Rocks.

We stayed two nights at City of Rocks RV this month, Aug. 2024. This is a very nice campground, no frills but also very reasonable. I reserved a pull through site for my 40 ft overall rig. The site was large, nice, clean and very easy to get into. The Camp Host visited the site after we had set up to introduce himself and gave us two pages of information about the area. I've never seen that done before. I will go back again, this campground was a winner and as I said the price was right. The area is also very interesting with a lot of history about the pioneers and our country.

Super close into park. Great Lil outdoor hot shower may have been a highlight after a cold dusty day in City of Rocks.

Pretty rustic and basic, with only electric and water. 3/4 mile gravel road to reach the campground. We were in space #4, which had an above average slope. They have an odd set-up for pull through sites, with the potential for two RVs in the same very long pull-through, which would not work if you are pulling a car and want to use it while staying there. However, they said they do not book the second space for that reason. Great location for leaving the RV and using the car to tour Castle Rock Park. The night we were there, it was so windy, we pulled in the slides to avoid damaging the slide awnings.

Campground Response

Thanks for staying David! You were here for our winter in June. Wind and snow for a day!

So nice to have this so close to the park when all camping there is full. You can tell the owners are working hard to make this super nice and eventually it will be. Right now the trees are young and the shade and wind protection is minimal so plan accordingly. We loved having the private outdoor shower available and the drop toilets were super clean. Also since the park has done away with their garage and recycling program (so crazy) it was great to have both available here at the RV park.

Campground Response

We are glad you could test the new shower for us! Thanks for staying!

Very nice facilities. Clean bathrooms, shower, shade cover, fire ring, even an outlet in our tent campsite! The owner stopped by one morning and he was very nice and told us about the area, their plans for the campground, etc. it also happens to be a beautiful location. Would stay here again!

Friendly manager, constantly improving this fairly new RV camp. Close to town and access road to recreation areas. Excellent water an electrical hookups (no sewer). Fairly good space between RV sites. Fairly good dog run (but could use better fencing to keep balls from going into adjacent property). Brand new shower with hot water (outside with privacy screening on all sides).

We had a wonderful time staying at City of Rocks RV, they are located right outside of the reserve so the access to the federal reserve and state park was amazing. Clean bathrooms, very friendly run place. We would definitely stay again.

Definitely our kind of place! The owner was very personable. He stopped by to introduce himself & had a prepared list of area attractions & things to do/see. Very thoughtful! There is a fenced dog area & plenty of room for on-leash walks. The site setup is a bit odd, as the pull-through sites are designed for 2 rigs in a row, nose to tail, but the sites were wide & we had plenty of space to park our tow vehicle. Things to note: There is no shower house. There is a triple-seater vault toilet on premises. Each site has water & electricity, but no sewer. The state park campground is nearby, & their RV dump station is maybe 1 1/2 miles away. The fee is $8. The last 1/2 mile or so of the access road is unpaved. We made it just fine in our larger rig, so don't let that be a deterrent. The location is wonderfully close to everything we wanted to see & do, & we loved waking up to cows lowing instead of traffic noise! Highly recommend this place!

Campground Response

Thanks Susan. The cows have moved to greener pastures but they will be back next spring! Definitely not much traffic here. We are almost finished with the new outdoor heated shower as well.

We quite enjoyed our camp at CoR-RV. Ross, camp-host/owner, is personable and accommodating. The campground is relatively new, as such, landscaping is a work in progress in a high desert environment. Trees are abundant, but small - which we actually enjoyed, as views of the snowy mountain tops, expansive valley, and night sky were unobstructed. Other than dry camping up in the City of Rocks, you can't get any closer - you're minutes away with a right turn out of the CG. Water/power hookups are virtually new and top-notch.
