The Cheesequake Campground is located in the beautiful town of Matawan, New Jersey and is the perfect spot for a fun and relaxing east coast camping trip.
Activities and Amenities
Campers can look forward to plenty of wide open spaces for picnicking, nature walking, biking and stargazing. And of course, no visit to the park is complete without time spent at the six-acre Hooks Creek Lake; go swimming on the water, or fish for trout, catfish, sunfish and largemouth bass. There's also opportunities for scenic viewing and photography so prepare for great open fields, salt and freshwater marshes, a white cedar swamp, pine barrens and a hardwood forest. There's also several trails to enjoy, so don't get caught outside without your hiking sneakers and camera! Amenities at the park include: dump stations, showers within walking distance, flush toilets, fire rings, grills and picnic tables. Hope to see you soon for your next New Jersey camping trip.

Nice wooded sites, far enough from interstate. Very friendly hosts. Could use more showers (only one).

The campground was quiet, clean and pet friendly. The host couple was very friendly. There is only one shower available for the entire place, though it was very clean. There are 42 sites and 5 cabins available. There are natural ponds and fishing, several trails and firewood is plenty. Each site is 50/30 amp, electric, sewer and water. Our site (#3) was a pull thru and a level packed gravel area with a concrete pad. The entire camp was clean and beautiful and felt very homey. The only con we found was the playground. It only had an unkempt swing set and slide and our little girl wouldn't even play on it. There were several seasonal people there who said they loved the area and their sites. It was a nice little place to stop by for a few days. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
