Camp Pecan Bayou is a spacious RV Park nestled among oak trees and quiet, open country. We're located at the intersection of Highways 36 and 283, about 12 miles south of Baird, Texas. We're also not far from Abilene (28 miles), Coleman (28 miles), and Cross Plains (15 miles). If you're looking for a scenic, relaxing escape, we'd love for you to visit!

Rules

Electricity Costs

Electricity usage costs are included; except that, for monthly stays, electricity usage over and above 1000 kilowatts will be added.

Behavior

Each person staying in the park is expected to be friendly and courteous to the other guests. The park will not tolerate any onerous, noxious, disruptive, or offensive behavior or activities. By paying and staying at the park, you agree that the park owner can require you to leave for any such behavior without refund.

Damage to Property

Any damage caused intentionally or unintentionally to any property of another will be the sole responsibility of the RV owner, or the guest of the RV owner, who caused the damage.

Termination by Park Owner

To maintain the safety and appearance of the park and the comfort of the park campers, the park owner reserves the right to terminate early the stay of any guest. If terminated early, any amount already paid for days not yet used will be refunded.

Appearance of RV

RVs must be clean in appearance and no RVs older than 15 years are allowed. For exceptions, please contact the park owner.

Site Appearance

RV sites must be kept clean and neat at all times.

Fires

No fires are allowed other than for grilling, provided the grilling is done so in a safe and responsible manner, only on the pad site, and off of the grass.

Pets

Pets are allowed, but must be kept on a leash if outside of the RV.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are from 10PM to 8AM.

Parking

All vehicles must be parked on a designated site pad or in a designated parking area.

One Camping Unit

Only one main RV or approved camping unit is allowed per site.

Small and quiet with just the basic full hookup utilities so it has everything we need. Spaces are generally bigger than most commercial rv parks and there is plenty of open space in the park.

We love this rv park we come back to Abilene every 4 months and this is a go to. It’s quiet, off the beaten path but close to everything that we need. The area is kept clean and neat. The folks who own it seem to be good people, and not out to take you to the cleaners.

The spots have 50 amp service, water and individual sewer hookup. The spaces are extremely long and easily accessed. I enjoyed the experience.

The image in the ad compared to what I found was vastly different. The pads were not groomed and overgrown with weeds and grass making it difficult to sit outside. The grass throughout the park was tall and in need of mowing. The security gate would not open from the park side which required climbing over or through the gate to use the key pad to open. Electric, water and sewer services are in good shape. There are nice common sitting areas with lighting in the park, but mowing is much needed. There are also pads that are covered for protection from the elements. The location is at least 15 miles from any towns, so be stocked before arrival. There is some highway noise as park is near a highway intersection. With a little work on pads/ landscape and repair of the gate sensors, this park could easily gain 5 stars.

Please forgive for not responding sooner. I appreciate your candidness, Bryan. No one hates the way the park looked ,when you were there, more than we do. We farm and ranch near the park and definitely love the rain, but every week it rained for 5 weeks in a row. Everything was growing at a rate we haven’t seen in a very long time. I hate that your stay was not a good experience . As far as the security gate, there are sensors on both sides and it was in working order. I hate that you had trouble. The distance to the nearest town, Baird, is only 12 miles. We do take your review very seriously. We try really hard to make our little RV Park a pleasant place. Try us again! And safe travels. The site we reserved was occupied when we arrived but we were able to choose another site. All sites are large and level with full hook ups. Some even have covers. Nice shade trees, chairs and picnic tables. Well worth a stop if you don't need any other amenities (restrooms, showers or laundry). We'll stay again if we're in the area.

Sorry I have to give you an "average" rating. But the lady on the phone was great! Daytime highway noise was bothersome to me and I didn't like walking my campsite weeds. I could not see what I was stepping into. Also, I was quoted a price of $35 but was billed (thru Rover) $49 and change.

I hate that you had some disquieting things happen during your 1 night stay. Highway traffic is always worst around a holiday. And please forgive about the weeds. Recent rain patterns have made it hard but the weeds will be taken care of. And yes, if you pay us directly, there is no extra charge for a pull-thru site, but on line it is $45 plus credit card charge. Again, thank you for your stay and your input. If you are looking for a campground that is very private yet conveniently located I highly recommend Camp Pecan Bayou. It is centrally located between Baird, Cross Plains, Abilene and Coleman. This park is new with back in and pull thru sites which all have 30 and 50 amp plug ins. With it being out of the city, deer and wild hogs occasionally visit the campground. I highly recommend this campground.
