Easy on/off I29! Good 30 amp/ WS hookup. Has 2 very friendly goats roaming the campground which was fun. Clean, level site. Would stay again.

This was a great little place to stay. Shady sites, good wifi, and friendly staff. It was central to all the fun Sisseton sites. The only recommendation I could make would be to add more gravel to the campsite roads, as they got pretty muddy after the rain.

Campground Response

Thank you for staying with us and for the review. You are correct, we’ve had a lot of rain this year and we have added more gravel.

Great place. We dont think its worth $50 though. Low end KOA's charge that and much more amenity.

Campground Response

Thank you for the review, what website did you book on? None of our sites are $50 a night even after taxes and fees. If you could let us know we will definitely look into it.

Place was great for an overnight. Full hook-ups. It stormed, so we couldn't use the playground. Close to town, but off highway for quiet. Pretty basic spot with nice lady in front office.

Campground Response

Thank you for the review and we hope you visit again and the weather is better.

Small, just off the interstate RV park. We had full hookup. Water and power were fine. The lot was a pull through and was level. It's a bit rural, but if you are looking for a quick overnight stay it was just fine. My only issue was with the other campers parking their boats wherever they wanted. Our rig had room to get out but others might have had difficulties.

Campground Response

Thank you for the review and staying with us. We do understand the issue with the parking. Unfortunately our overflow parking is all grass and we’ve had a more wet than average year making the overflow not useable.

Let me preface by saying that we are used to staying at bigger parks with lots of amenities, so that skews my take a little. Positives: 1) easy to pull through and park, 2) full hook-ups, 3) decent hot showers that were pretty clean. Negatives: 1) needs more gravel installed…too much exposed dirt, and therefore, mud, 2) someone to help “police” other campers as to where they should park extra trucks and boats, etc. (had difficulties booking up and pulling out in the morning due to this). All in all, it is an affordable passing through/stay-over type spot that is easy to get in and out of and is very close to the interstate, but it is not a destination type place, which honestly, is probably by design.

Campground Response

Thank you for the review and staying with us. Since you stayed we have brought in four loads of gravel to help keep the water off the roads and sites with the heavy rains. We also understand the lack of overflow parking that happens with the rains as the overflow is grass. Again, thank you for the honest review.

This park is quiet and convenient to Sisseton. Staff are friendly and keep the facility clean. It is older, with few 50 amp sites. Larger units will have a hard time fitting into the available space. A new playground was having fresh sand added while we were there and the sites had all been cleared of winter debris and leveled right before we arrived.

Couldn’t get ahold of anyone to figure out stay or location of the site. Come to find out our site was right in the road.

I booked a 50 amp and the pedestal between the two sites only had one 50 amp plug and the other RV had already taken the 50. So I ended up being stuck with 30 amp. Other than that, this was a great little park for an overnight stay.

positives: we had a bathroom and shower to use, cheaper than the Super 8, we could camp by our friends, we could use electricity and plug in our extension cord and fans negatives: mens bathroom smelled unpleasant, trash was never emptied, we were told we could camp anywhere and that this old camper sitting there was not being used - we'll someone decided to stay in it and slam the door many times at 1am one night, also yell for their dogs - so that was loud and surprising, someone also didn't pick up their dog poo so had to make sure we didn't step on that on the way to the restroom

Nice, quiet, laid-back campground. We stayed in the large grassy area that they have for tents, not much for shade, but there were a few trees near the edge that provided a little if you could get near those. There was a grassy area with a little playground, horseshoes, basketball, etc for kids, so that was nice. Bathrooms were clean for a campground. The ladies that checked us in were very nice.

Very nice camp grounds. Quiet. Well maintained. Friendly staff. My site did not have a fire pit or picnic table and the staff helped me get them. Bravo!

I have never left a rating before, but there are things you should know about this campground. Let me start by saying that the camp hosts and management were good people. While they did their best to address our concerns, the facility and a lack of organization did not make things easy or possible in one very important instance. The campsites: 1. Sites too small for campers with slide-outs or awnings. Slide outs were a foot apart, facing campers could only use one awning. Sewer dump ends up under the neighbors slide outs in some sites. 2. No grass. Just minimal gravel and dirt. It rained and the mud puddles were immense. Management: 3. A positive note! Good wifi! 1. Again, they were good people. 2. No organized system for checking in or out. While we had no problem, my parents came in to find their spot full. My husband had to walk around and find them a temporary spot to park while they waited for the other camper to return and move (only a limited number of 50 amps sites). Our friends were bumped out of their booked site to an inferior site as well. 3. Finally, when we went to dump at the end of our stay, the septic system was backed up in the entire campground (think spewing poop water from the ground full). We paid for sewer, but had to go find an alternative place to dump. All in all, I would not recommend this campground.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review and although we can’t fix everything the sewer issue was addressed right away and has been taken care of and we will continue to monitor it closely. We have looked into ways to make our sites better fitting for larger rigs and will be making adjustments in the future. Our check in/check out system is the overpass website itself although we do try to greet guests as they come in. Unfortunately, it’s not always possible which is where the mix up in camp sites happened. We are working on upgrading more sites to 50 amp as well to be more accommodating also. Again, we do thank you for your review as it will help us improve in the future.

Very gracious hosts. Clean and well kept facilities. Decent WI-FI. Grocery store within walking distance. Only stayed one night but it was fine.

I do not like RV Parks. The last time I stayed in one was over eight years ago when I used to do so frequently. Now I boondock all the time. But I was in the process of getting a South Dakota drivers license and needed a proof of residency paper which amounted to a printed receipt for a one night stay at a motel or RV park. Camp Dakotah would fill the requirement. What a pleasant place to stay. It was peaceful and quiet, everything I seek. Also, in order to get the printed receipt I needed to go online and make a reservation to be in the system. The nice young lady did it for me, saving me that grief. I enjoyed my stay at Camp Dakotah and was in no hurry to leave the next day.

Campground Response

Thank you for staying! Glad we could help you out!

Camp Dakotah was clean and quiet. Served our purpose as an overnight stay well. The campground is old so don't expect too much. The gravel site was shady and level. Don't expect much more.

For us it was perfect. If you are looking for a fancy campground with lots of amenities this is not for you. But if you are looking for full hook-ups, quiet, in the country, washer/dryer, close to town, lakes, state park/rec areas then it is the perfect stop. You will find people who are work campers but they were all very quiet and respectful, no issues. Dan the maintenance guy was really nice and the owner is very kind.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review, and you are correct, we are a simple small campground with the basic necessities. We try our best to to accommodate everyone.

It is good for a short stop over. The pictures on the website are a bit deceiving as the parking spaces are passable at best. They are gravel with very little grass except for the area around the playground and activity area. The host was friendly and parked us in a better site than we had selected online. It would be helpful if the spots were identified online like they actually are at the site. We would stay there again if we go that way.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review and thank you for staying with us. We are working on ways to provide more room on our sites as this continues to be an issue.

Dan was helpful getting us set up with water for my camper when we arrived. I would stay again in the future.

Upon arrival no one seemed to know we were coming or had a reservation. A manager finally arrived on his motorcycle and showed us to our location. The place was very bland. Of the three toilets in the facility, one had no stool, one said not in service and the other was moderately dirty. Would definitely be our choice to not stay there again.
