Big Mountain Campground has a rich history of family traditions, scenic views, and timeless nostalgia. Established in 1970 this inviting campground was started by two loving people, Jim and Carolyn Ockey. Through its many names changes: Horse Shoe Bar Ranch, Ranch Camp, KOA Campground, Camperworld Nebo Loop, and now Ockey’s Big Mountain Campground, the intention has stayed the same, a friendly, inviting, enjoyable campground. Whether you’re family oriented, resort searching or camping bound, we provide the perfect situation for you to create everlasting memories. A place you can sit back, relax, and enjoy. The basis that friends and family are key, is still the focused belief. This beautiful park is located just five miles east of Nephi, UT in Salt Creek Canyon. Off exit 225 go east on Highway 132 (approx. 5 miles). The resort is on the south side of the highway. At the base of the notorious Nebo Loop Scenic Byway, Big Mountain Campground shares the same breathtaking views. You will enjoy the rustic atmosphere with many amenities and fun-filled activities.

Big Mountain Campground is a park located near Nephi, Utah. It features full hookup campsites that are big rig friendly. Many of them are pull through accessible. The park provides free WiFi, allows pets, and has a dump station.

Amenities & Activities

Campsite amenities offered include a swimming pool, a game room, a general store, a pavilion, picnic tables, fire circles, and grills. It also includes basic amenities like restrooms with hot showers and laundry facilities. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as horseshoe toss, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, scenic drives, and wildlife watching.

RV Sites

Our RV sites include water, 30 amp electricity, and sewer. Each site has its own section of grass. Located on the outer edge and center of the campground, campers can enjoy the surrounding mountains and shade trees. Restrooms and showers are available for use in two locations.

Cabins

We offer 6 cabins for rent. Each has a queen size bed and one bunk bed. Comfortably sleeps 4. These spaces take you back to when life was simpler. They are located along the bank of the mountain with plenty of surrounding trees and foliage. They truly are their own personal oasis. Restrooms and showers are also available for use in two locations. Bedding is not provided.

Lodges

The lodge is a fully maintained unit with a queen size bed and one bunk bed. It will sleep 4++. Our lodge has a couch, TV, kitchenette, full size bathroom, and is fully furnished with dishes and cookware. It truly is the perfect get away! Located at the top of the park where privacy is the key. Bedding is not provided.

Rules

Cancellation

There is a $10 processing fee per site for ALL cancellations. Cancellation notice must be given 7 days prior to scheduled arrival date. No shows will be charged 100% of nightly rental charges for time reserved.
